I've lurked but never posted on the CD board before; pardon if this is a repeat question!
DH and I started CD with prefolds and covers (Thirsties Duo Wrap size 1) when DS was ~3 weeks old. We've
loved our home system of prefolds/covers and never have leaks.
But we've been having issues with our "daycare stash," which is comprised mostly of Best Bottoms. I bought the BB thinking that we'd get tons of use out of them because the AI2 covers could go over our prefolds at home. But we've had tons of leaking issues with the BB (when we use them with the BB inserts), which makes me just avoid them altogether. I'm wondering if anyone else has had leaking issues with BB. DS is
always getting leaks at daycare, which in the past I've attributed to them likely not putting on his CD tight enough (DS is the
only child in the daycare center who uses CD, so I think most of the women aren't really comfortable with CD). But even at home, I've been getting leaks when I put BB on him -- even right after I change him. DS is not a heavy wetter, so I'm not sure what's going on. I've been so disappointed. I was expecting great things from BB, particularly because of the double gussets.
DS has
scrawny little legs, so I'm wondering if his build isn't well-suited for BB. I've read that double snaps around the waist can be best for babies with small legs, as the lower snap allows for a tighter fit on the legs. And of course BB just have the single snap. So now I've started branching out and trying some new diapers, mostly pockets, hoping those might be better for daycare. I just bought some SoftBums Echo and Omni, and I have a handful of BG4.0.
Sorry for the novel. I'd appreciate any insight you have, particularly with BB and scrawny-legged babies!

DD is just about 10lbs now. I did BB for two days before realizing that she just isn't big enough for them yet. They cover looks snug until you prop her on her side for a feeding, then there is a huge gap and the pee just rolls on out of it. Of the 10 changes I did in the first 2 days, 5 leaked....all feedings. And I have the hemp inserts which are supposed to absorb more. At this point I'm conceding that it is a user issue not dipe issue and I'm waiting for her to pork up a little before I try them again.
