Perfect stroller? Does it exist?

Hello ladies, I am looking for a stroller for my little one. He is nine months old and I would like to find a stroller that does it all, or as close as possible.

I want to be able to jog, very  lightly, and take it on smooth trails in the park. I also want decent storage for shopping trips and for it to be able to fit through doorways ( a current low point of our stroller). Cup holders and storage are desired. We also frequent Disney World and Universal Studios, so I want a stroller that can tackle the big parks and also allow him shade and comfort to sleep as needed.

So, in short, I want it all! In all honesty, I can find suggestions for the best jogger, or the best all terrain, or the best urban stroller, but I really need a pleasant mix of everything.

And, finally, we are open to having another child sooner rather than later, but we don't have anything set in stone yet. Just something to consider.

I could really use some recommendations please!

  • The baby jogger versa (with GT wheels if you want) is as close to perfect as I think it gets. It can do everything you want really well. I've done some pretty intense power walking with it and it's done well. You can also add a glider board or a vista rumble seat if you have a second down the road.

If you decide you really want to jog a dedicated jogger is really the only solution there is.

  • Nope. I have had 7 strollers. 4 singles and 3 doubles. I use all 3 of my doubles on a regular basis.

  • What is your current stroller? I have a Britax B Ready, and while it's a lot of stroller, it fits just about all of your desires, minus the jogging. But it can handle some intense trail/hill power walking!

Do you trust the rumble seat on he Versa 100%? I've been thinking of doing this.

Yep I do. I use mine this way ALL the time with my 20 and 30 lb kids.  It's not going anywhere.

It sounds like you need a true jogger and then something else.  You really shouldn't be jogging with anything that doesn't have air tires.

The Versa GT would maybe work but I'd never recommend jogging with it.  I'd probably get a BOB and then something else for the rest.  Cupholders are overrated and you can always add a parent console later so don't let that influence your decision.

I personally think you should look at the Valco Snap for your everyday (great storage and Valco sometimes gives you free cup holders if you buy direct from them) and look for a used BOB or other jogger if you actually run. The Snap meets all your criteria except the jogging.

How do these strollers compare when collapsed? I have to fit it in the back of my Prius so space saving is a plus.
As for jogging, I might downgrade my need to something good for brisk walks. I love all these suggestions!

  • @GearUp‌ I'm going to add some pics of my Snap Duo (Double)vs my G-Luxe for comparison. This one weighs 22 lbs and the single is a little over 12 lbs for comparison size wise. I'm pretty that even the double would fit in your Prius and the single no problem. On sale the snap goes down to $179 and the double $300...so if your having another kid you could have both for the price of the City Select. The storage on the Snap is amazing too. I put in a small suitcase just to show you how big it is and it also has storage pockets.

  • I love our Uppababy Vista (although not for jogging). It's a big stroller but it folds up nicely.
  • I have two Xplorys and love them. I've jogged with them and done light trail walks with them. They've performed well under every circumstance. And they're really cool-looking B-)

  • I love my city mini. You can't add another seat, though. And you'd still need a jogging stroller. But it's compact and handles well. I still love it and my youngest is 18 months old.
