Scared and nervous

So I know I haven't been on all that much with the school year ending, but here is the other reason why:

Baby boy has been given the diagnosis of: Hypoplastic Right Heart with Tricuspid Atresia with pulmonary artery Hypoplasia.

In english: His valve between the right atrium and the right ventricle is faulty. Either it isn't working, blocked, or non-existent. Because it is faulty the right ventricle isn't getting blood and the artery that leaves from that part of the heart is extremely small and the lungs aren't getting blood. Because the right ventricle is so small the left ventricle has taken over the space and is huge.

Right now we are waiting until June 27th when we will have an amniocentesis done to see if it chromosomal and is some sort of syndrome causing this or if once again it is a "fluke." At this appointment we will also meet the cardiologist to see what we will do at little man's birth. We will find out if he needs one or more surgeries and he will talk to us about his open heart surgery right after birth.

Positive: Little man is growing wonderfully right now. He is right on for size and everything but his heart look great. He is also completely fine while he is hanging out inside of me hopefully for the next 20 weeks.

@emily61111‌ Ok so my oldest son had this, he's now 10 years old and perfectly healthy. They didn't see it on the sonogram though, it wasn't picked up until after he was born and all of the sudden I noticed various drs and nurses listening to his heart and then they asked everyone to leave the room. They told us he would either need surgery or it would fix itself, he saw a cardiologist for about 2 years, it fixed itself and he never had to have surgery. It totally fixed itself, he doesn't even need to take an antibiotic for teeth cleanings and can play all sports.

Hopefully this will be the case for you. I will be thinking of you!
