Trying to Get Pregnant

FF question

edited June 2014 in Trying to Get Pregnant
FF just told me that based on my pattern it can no longer interpret my cycle. What does that mean... and what does it mean for ttc this cycle of anything? Except for two days last week I temp at the same time every morning. I do have a summer cold... would that contribute? I didn't think I was doing that bad with this!

FF seems to be giving up a bit early. What method do you have it set on? What happens if you take out the pos OPK?

    ----
Method? And I'm not sure.. I will try.
Edit - + OPK out does nothing nor does setting it to vaginal temping

  • Loading the player...
  • "Research" puts the cross hairs back on CD 13. I'm so confused

I don't think you have ovulated yet. I would just put my detection method back to "Advanced" and keep temping.

I will give it a shot. Thanks. I've had a pretty consistent 26 day cycle. This would be the one time my body decides to screw with me!

I've given DH a break the last few days.. He's severely overworked (at work) so hopefully no damage done by taking a breather.

  • Kredd88cramcakes recomendation of keep temping and sexing!  Give yourself and your man a break then pick it back up!  Best wishes
  • @Greeneyes842‌ I woke up an hour later.. alarm didn't go off. I did try discarding and it did nothing.

@ kelley72 this is my first month temping

I will try to go ED until we see something change. Thanks, ladies!

  • Just to add something, I'm by no means a FF expert but I had the same issue the first month I started temping (last cycle). My temps were all over the place until about CD20 and then it evened out from 21-24 and then my temp spiked on 25 (showing I Od on CD24). I was freaked out prior to Oing because I had ALWAYS been 26-28 days. Just keep temping and FX it'll figure itself out.

    Good luck!

@CForman719‌ what was the end result? Did you really O on CD24 with a long cycle or did you have a regular 26-28?

  • If someone ovulated on CD 24 and this was confirmed by sustained temps - you would have close to a 36-40 day cycle.  If the cycle stayed 26-28 days with just a thermal rise at the end, then it was most likely an anovulatory cycle.  However, I was under the impression that if you are getting your period regularly, then you are ovulating.

That makes sense. This is all very complicated... again I marvel at the continued existence of the human race!

    ---------

@Kredd88‌ I did O on CD24. There was a clear shift in temps. My cycle ended up being 35 days. If I had not been temping I would have lost my mind and peed on every stick with all BFNs.

I used to 'track' my cycles with another app prior to FF. Since coming off BCP in November last year every cycle was 26 days except one was 28.

I attached a picture if my chart last month. FF originally have me CHs on CD13, but then took them away a couple days later bc my temps were all over the place.

(Sorry my post is so long)

Thanks for sharing @CForman719. It's interesting that yours doesn't look so different than mine as far as the up then back down goes. Maybe it will change its mind tomorrow. Hopefully after a couple cycles it will figure me out. Hope not! I did try an OPK today and I'm not even triggering a faint test line.

Edited because s is a tricky little letter!

  • The exact same thing happened to me - this is my first month charting and FF gave up on me as well. It kept telling me to switch back and forth between the OPK and Advanced detection settings - I'm just ignoring it and hoping consistent temping will get it back on track. Good luck!

  • Well.. I got my CH back today. The only problem is, my temp was 98 because DD came in an hour before my alarm goes off and I had to reach over and pull 32 lbs of kid and her stuffed shark into the bed. I pretty much fell right back to sleep but fitfully and fighting her for space. Do I keep that temp or discard? Sorry for all the questions... This is a big learning curve.

  • I agree with @cramcakes‌ , I wanted to discard temps for one reason or another but was advised to keep them all in and just make notes. It may make you crazy at first but showing a the data may help you out in the long run.
