Had our consult!

So we had our consult with the fertility doctor to go over all our results from all the testing we has so far.   So basically not only are my tubes blocked but " they are destroyed". So we cannot even consider trying to have them unblocked.  :(  I was kind of hoping for this, since my insurance will cover 100% of IUI.  He then goes on to tell me he would like for me to have a procedure called "Essure" to completely clamp off my tubes by the uterus, apparently having bad tubes can hinder getting pregnant and pregnancy, even when using IVF.  The office will be calling me in the next week or so to schedule this procedure. But he said that it can take 2 -3  months to be fully closed off. UGGGG 
So anyway beside my sucky tubes everything else looks good; my eggs & ovaries, all my blood work, and  hubby's sperm , they took hubby's blood today. 
I am going back on the 25th to have a 2 hour consult with the nurse to discus IVF and hopefully the finance part of it. Lord knows how we are going to afford this, since insurance will not pay for anything!!! But we will figure it out!!

I really hope this makes sense since my head is still spinning!!!!

    I'm sorry about your tubes but glad you're getting answers and moving forward with a plan. I hope things get better for you!

    I am really sorry for the issue with your tubes!!  FX they can get it resolved soon and you won't be benched for long (if at all).

    Married 9-1-12 (On Depo until 4-12)        Me- 33, DH- 36
    NTNP starting 9-12, Actively TTC since 9-13
    My DX- Hypothyroidism.  Prescribed Synthroid
    DH's DX- Severe MFI- first SA results: 1.3 mill (1.2 mill motile), 21.6% motility, 2% morphology
    Blood test revealed low testosterone so DH was prescribed Clomid.  Repeat blood test and SA in November.

    I'm sorry to hear about your tubes.  From my lurking it seems most people with bad tubal issues have their tubes removed.  I would consider asking your Dr about the pros and cons of removal vs essure.  I admit I am kinda talking out of my ass here.  It also may be worth asking on the IF board here as well.

    I'm so sorry about the news. GL with your IVF consult.

       Me: IR-PCOS, elevated DHEAs, low progesterone, weak ovulation  DH: low volume, low T
    SHG 5/10/13: both tubes blocked; HSG 6/28 = Left tube cleared! Right blocked.
    BFP#1 7/20/13 EDD 3/30/14, m/c 8/19/13, D&E 8/21/13, Chromosomal results = normal, female
    Lap & hysteroscopy scheduled for 10/31, right tube cleared, no endo found! ...Happy Halloween!
    Cycle 14: Clomid (50)+ IUI = BFP! EDD 9/16/14~ Rowan Elizabeth born sleeping at 17w4d on 4/12/14 due to IC.

    @tlc35 unfortunately I am a "surgical risk", because of the car accident I was in back in 2012, the reason my tubes were destroyed, so I cannot have the surgery to remove them.

    It sounds like you have a great attitude and are getting answers, but I'm sorry about your tubes.  Hopefully you will get some great info from the nurse at your next appt.

    I'm sorry to hear that you got some bad news.  The fact that everything besides your tubes look good sounds positive though.  Psht.. you don't need no stinkin' tubes! You got this!! ;)  For real though, I hope they are able to work it out to where you don't have to wait too long to get started with the IVF.  Pulling for you, darlin!!

    I'm so sorry. Hopefully you will have a good IVF consult and you'll be on the short end of that 2-3 month estimate.

    Sorry to hear, but glad you will be able to move on and get a plan in place. *Fingers crossed* for you.
    Due with #5 April 22, 2015. It's a girl!!!!! 

     Yes it was planned, yes we know what causes that, no we are not on public assistance, and yes we will be getting cable after this. ;)
