~*~*MSPI Moms Weekly Check-In*~*~
Welcome! This is a check-in for moms who are/were on a dairy free and/or soy free diet due to their LO's intolerance. The check-ins will be posted every Monday morning on the Breastfeeding board and XP'd to the Food Allergy board. If you'd like to join the group, just post an intro here and dive in! To check out the archive of our previous check-ins, please see the MSPI Moms Blog (www.mspimoms.blogspot.com).
1. How are you doing? How is your LO doing?
2. Any other burning questions you'd like answered or experiences to share?
3. I need another volunteer to take over the check-ins. Anyone interested?

Must feel great to see such improvement in your LO. Let us know if you have any questions or need advice. Several of us have had to cut out multiple foods aside from dairy and soy. Nice to have you!
1. How are you doing? How is your LO doing? We had such a great update last week but we had a set back this week. The only thing I ate that wasn't regular was black beans. The ingredients listed, "black beans, salt and water" so I figured they were safe. Nope! She had blood in her diaper the next day. So, I have added black beans to my long list of foods I don't eat. A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I was unable to eat Chipotle (like others can) because something was causing her issue. Well....I think it was the beans and not cross contamination!! I had no idea! I may be able to go back and try without them next time. We never eat out so it'll be nice to possibly have this option.
2. Any other burning questions you'd like answered or experiences to share? No questions this week. I did eat Southwest Turkey Sliders over Spicy Avocado Slaw this week and the coleslaw wasn't too shabby (I didn't make it spicy though).

Anyone interested? LOL. I'm not always timely with my check-ins but I'll take over for you, if no one else can/will. No one has really checked in this week and I hope it isn't out of fear to take this on. I look forward to the advice and/or commiseration weekly so I don't want to see it go away.
Welcome, @mamagreene!
Hi,
I'm new here as well. My LO is 2 weeks and at our doctor's appointment on Tuesday our doctor recommended I cut out all dairy and soy from my diet to see if that was causing her constant state of crying (if she was awake, there was a 90% chance she was crying). We also started to notice mucus in her stool.
Since Tuesday, she seems to be doing much better. She still can get upset shortly after a feeding but we seem to have much more alert time with her where she's not crying. She's also been sleeping for longer stretches of time.
I'm still in the process of trying to find foods I can eat. We are now cooking everything at home so any brands/restaurants that have MSPI safe foods would be greatly appreciated. It's tough to have a 2 week old and have to cook every meal.
