June 2014 Moms

**Born to Run Junebugs Check In**

This is a weekly thread for runners who are due in June 2014, that is posted on Mondays. All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. This is a place to talk about running while pregnant, training, runs, races, gear, recovery, nutrition, and whatever else we can think of.

Anyone who posts here regularly should feel free to start the thread on Mondays if it seems to be missing.

How were your runs and workouts this week?

GTKY:  What do you wish you could do right now?  (I know most of us are either super pregnant or in recovery so there's A LOT we are limited to!)

Re: **Born to Run Junebugs Check In**

  • My Runs:  Fine.  Ran 3 times for 7 miles total.  I also went swimming twice.  I still feel pretty great, so that's positive. However, I would like to have the baby now... Even if that means giving up working out for a little while! I'm impatient.

GTKY:  I wish I could run longer distances faster than 12-13 minute miles!!!  I also wish I could bend over and pick things up/tie my shoes without wanting to pass out.  I also really want one of those bud light cans of lime-a-rita or anything really... They just look so refreshing!!

  • Yay- congrats @lola4411!  I've been wondering about you!

I'm running 15 mins every other day right now and some walks here and there and that's about it.  I'm taking it super easy until my 6 week appointment.  Right now, I wish running felt easier.  I still have 20 extra lbs and I can feel them while running so much!  I also can't wait to start Jillian's 30 day shred!

@kinipela7 I love hearing how you are doing post baby. You are doing awesome! I also plan on doing the 30 day shred once I'm cleared for it. Keep it up!

How were your runs and workouts this week? Very good. I had two long walks and two runs this week for 16.5 miles total. I ran 4 miles yesterday at under 11 min/mi pace and felt great after which was so awesome!

GTKY: What do you wish you could do right now? (I know most of us are either super pregnant or in recovery so there's A LOT we are limited to!) I wish I could run distance again. It's so hard to watch all my running buddies as they are now in the throes of training for fall halfs and marathons and not gonna lie, I'm jealous!

Keep up all the great work ladies!! @lola4411 that's awesome you feel that the exercise helped you during labor. I'm sure many of us are relieved to hear that! Can't wait to read your full birth story. :)

  • I'm only 4 days PP so I'm not doing much other than taking care of the kids. I wanted to go for a walk yesterday but by the time the evening came my butt was hurting too bad. These hemorrhoids are the worst! It is seriously the only part that is bothering me now.

I've been wearing the bellefit girdle this time and it seems to be helping my stomach go down faster than usual.
  • @TonyaCody06‌ which style bellefit did you get if you don't mind me asking? I'm on the fence but really am considering getting one... but they are so expensive so hearing first hand reviews is really helpful!

  • @babygabe614 - I love JM 30 day shred!  It does make me sore though so I don't know if I plan to do it everyday Mon-Fri or every other day.  What do you plan on doing?

@babygabe614‌ I got the dual closure. I have bad diastasis recti so I contacted the company to ask which style helped with the healing of that the most. Their response was the corset or dual closure and that the dual closure had the most sizing versatility due to the extra closures. They have a $10 off code on the bellefit website + free shipping. I ended up having a paypal credit that i used when buying it so I got it for like $15!

It was hard getting on the 1st day home but has been easier since. I haven't slept in it yet. By the time the day is over I'm ready to get out of it. Once I get a bit smaller I'm sure it will be more comfortable for 24hr wear. It's definitely working though!
  • @kinipela7 I will be training for a half marathon with my SIL once I am OK'd to, so I'll be running 3-4 days/week and doing JM 3 days/week hopefully. I have never done the videos before so not sure what to expect as far as how hard it will be!

  • @TonyaCody06 I was looking at the dual closure because like you said, it looked the most versatile and would offer the most "forgiveness" with sizing. Glad to know the reps said the same to you and I will make sure I look for that coupon if I order! Thanks so much for the info!
