It is EOG testing week here at work, and I'm stuck in 2nd grade testing prison.  We must be quiet because the other classes are testing.  2 weeks of school left (I'm a year-round teacher) and I'm over it.  Some of their voices I can't stand anymore, and I spend a lot of my time begging LO to not be like so-and-so.

Loved this out of sympathy... I've been done with my kiddos for a week, and by the end, I just wanted them all to go away.

  • Let's start with this: DH grandma is visiting so I can take it easy these last few weeks.

So 1. She had her house payment to be auto withdrawn out of her account on the 15th of every month and since the 15th fell on a Sunday yesterday and tried to reassure her that they would take it today (monday the 16th). She is so fucking impatient with it that she has already called them twice this morning making sure it will come out today. The lady she talked to both times told her to give it some time and it will come out today. She got off the phone and I told her you have to be patient with it. You can check back online this afternoon and I'm sure it will have come out of the account.

    2. She makes a fucking mess of her toast. Leaves the fucking jelly laden knife on the counter all day and the crumbs all over the counter. Umm... Hello. I have plates you can use and clean up after yourself. I hate trying getting up in the morning to make myself bfast but I have to clean yours up too.

    3. She puts the dishes from the dishwasher in the wrong cabinets, I guess it's better than stacking them on the counter in the corner like she used to do.

    4. Her damn dog has so such stinky gas that it's making my fucking house reek. I can only find so many candles that I can stand the smell of to get rid of the ass smell. And it's TOO DAMN HOT to open some windows to breeze the house out. And I am not just pointing my finger at her dog. My dog has gas too but my dog follows me around or sits close enough for me to know when it's her.

    5. Her dog sheds so damn much that I'm having to make extra house work for myself by vacuuming more than what I usually vacuum. She won't take her dog outside and brush her. She says she's going to but never does it. Then she wants to bathe her shedding dog in my tubs. Hello, brush your dog, get as much hair off, then bathe her, then brush her again after her bath.

    6. DH and I make DS climb the stairs to go to the bath in the evenings. Since, DH has been gone at work and she's been bathing DS and carries him upstairs instead of letting him climb. She can't even climb the stairs herself very well. Please for the love of all things Holy, let him climb, I need him using his legs and building his strength. And when she carries him down after bath she carries him like a sack of potatoes.

    7. She undermines me and I'm thisclose to losing my shit about that too. I have been having hot flashes the past week or so. When DS wants to pull up on the couch and hang all over me, I move him to one side or the other and not touching me, he wants to whine. She calls him over and 'loves' him cuz I wouldn't. Sorry, I'm sweating my ass off and want to be naked all the time and don't want him climbing on me. But that doesn't mean you can tell him to go to you and you love him. He can crawl on the floor and find something to distract him.

I'm full of them today. I feel shitty about bitching about all of this because we asked her for her help until DD gets here but I'm too scared to say anything because she is so damn sensitive about everything and I don't want to hurt her feelings. I'm gonna have to talk to DH to talk to her.

  • Ew @skeemer, that dude is no bueno. Glad your son is doing better though and that sounds like quite an ordeal.

MBF @ myself: I him-hawed and didn't sign up for a breastfeeding class and meant to keep looking into it and now there are only 2 dates coming up to attend. It's my fault but the dates  are 2 weeks before my due date and 2 days before my due date. I'm not sure if I should sign up for one and take the chance LO could come early or just read books and educate myself as best I can. our hospital does have a certified lactation consultant that will visit you in the room and there is a Free breastfeeding group you can attend after your baby is born with other mothers to discuss any issues you might be having (at our hospital) so I'm not sure what to do.

  • My doc confirmed that I'm not to travel this weekend to my good friend's wedding since I'm on modified bedrest. I knew it was a possibility, but I'm still really bummed.

Also, what @LiteraChick‌ said about body not cooperating x 1,000. I am home and have all this time on my hands but I can't actually do anything productive because I'm supposed to be resting.

  • Someone keeps leaving the toilet paper roll empty at work. The extra toilet paper is kept upstairs in the cleaning closet, it takes less than 2 minutes to go grab a few rolls , but when I'm running in to use the bathroom and have to go really bad, it would be nice if the person who used it up would have bothered to replace it. I even put a nice note requesting that whoever finishes the last roll please replace it for the next person, but it's still being left empty and I'm always the one who has to lug my pregnant ass up the stairs to get more. Good thing this is my last full week before maternity leave....

My MIL does the stacking in the corner thing and it drives me crazy! If you don't know where they go just leave them in the sink!

  • DH had to take the dogs out to pee in the middle of the night. One of the dogs stepped in poop and had it on his foot to which while trying to return to sleep, DH smelled. DH literally regressed to 4 yrs old stomping his feet, whining and yelling at the dogs like it was their fault. I couldn't hold my patience after he started lashing out at the dogs- dude, if you picked up dog shit daily this wouldn't happen! Instead I said, "quit yelling at them and clean it up so you can go back to bed."

How is he going to deal with a baby?!
  • My co-irker is eating loudly today.  He's scraping his plastic bowl, then scraping his teeth on his fork/spoon and then making loud chewing swallowing noises.  Have I mentioned eating noises drive me batty?

  • I've decided to try a little more structured "teaching" with DS (at 37 weeks...I'm sure I've lost my mind). We're starting easy though with a Red themed week. He already knows his colors, and R is one of like 3 letters he knows...so it's more about can I get him engaged in actual activities? Anyways...we went to the library to get a few books that came up with the key word of red. I went to a specific library a little further away since I really wanted LLama LLama Red Pajama. Online system said they should have it. Did they? Of course not. Argh!

  • The stupid mortgage comapny didn't get their shit together last week so we didn't get to close on our house on Friday (the 13th). They've known about this date since FEBRUARY. Now we close tomorrow. Giving me one less weekend to get ready for this baby in my new house.

As soon as we close I am nailing someone's ass to the wall for this.

I have several of them today..

    1. We are car shopping - I have only had my car for 2 years but over the last 6 months it has had a lot of electrical issues and they keeping coming so we are terrified of what is next.  We cannot find anything we like.  We were at a dealership yesterday and found something but they were low balling us on my trade - they wanted to give us $2,500 less than what their system was even telling them to give us. Then they called today to talk about a different car but still not wanting to give us what we want for the trade. Car shopping is not what I wanted to do 36+ weeks pregnant.

    2. My husband is in the reserves and he recently spent 6 weeks activated and in Japan.  They really screwed up his pay. He didn't get any pay the entire month of May and then when he did get paid it wasn't the correct amount. He went in to fix it and that pay didn't come in for another week and a half, oh and it still wasn't right. So he went back in and asked about it and about family separation pay he was supposed to get along with the other issues that needed to be fixed - oh you have to fill a form out for that. So why didn't you tell him that. The guy knows he is married I actually used to work with his wife.  He is just lazy.  I feel like if you screw up someone's pay that bad then you should go without being paid and then have you pay be messed up. eye for an eye.  Just not what we need with the baby almost here.

DH is active duty and they didn't give him family separation because they assumed I was hanging out at the RASP barracks during his training. First of all, women can't be Rangers and second, pregnant civilians can't live in RASP barracks. What? I feel your pain.

  • So the 24 hour urine catch is so much fun to begin with.  But the first collection I had to do, I really had to poop.  And they don't tell you how to maneuver around that situation trying to poop and collect pee at the same time!  That was a fun adventure.  Plus having a 3 year old that has to watch every move you make, getting her stool out so she can watch me pour from the hat to the jug.  Really wish our bathroom had a lock!!  And DH wants me to keep the jug in the fridge in the garage.  Well he's at work, so it's staying in the house.  And when I have to pee in the middle of the night, I sure as hell ain't trekking out to the garage to get the jug!  So he'll have to deal with it.

  • @livelaughlove88 would it be possible to keep a roller two of TP at your desk or area so when you have to go you can just grab that roll in case the bathroom roll is empty?

We were at dinner with my parents and in-laws on Saturday after our shower. I was starving and ate quite a bit of my dinner, and then DH helped himself to some of what I wasn't going to eat. My mom apparently missed DH helping himself, because she looked at my plate and her eyes bugged out and she said, "WOW, SOMEONE was HUNGRY!" Thanks Mom. Everyone's obsessed with how much I'm eating these days - has your appetite grown? What are you craving? Anything that doesn't sound good that you used to like? Are you gaining weight? I'm so tired of feeling like a lab rat.

  • Another bitch: Today is dragging ASS!
  • So I'm going later for an ultrasound to see if baby flipped back into breech position. And if so get the process started to schedule a c-section.

My MBF is that people continue to tell me horror stories about their c-sections and tell me that I should avoid it at all costs. I understand that everyone has their own experience but from what I've gathered from you ladies here and friends/family a scheduled c-section usually goes a lot better than an emergency one. I'm fine with the idea of it as long as my baby gets here safe and healthy. People need to share their experience and leave it at that... everyone is different and I'm already scared enough as it is about getting baby out by either method.
If it helps, Ihad an ECS last time and I was just happy to get the baby out. I WANTED it at that point, and had been going epi free, so the spinal was loverly. I'm psyched for a RCS this time- not focusing on the details of what they'll be doing. The thought of the procedure is far worse then then actual thing.
I've decided to try a little more structured "teaching" with DS (at 37 weeks...I'm sure I've lost my mind). We're starting easy though with a Red themed week. HA- me too! IDK why suddenly I've gotten all structured with my son, RIGHT before it's going to all be lost! Maybe I"ll be able to get going easier now that I've done a few weeks of things with him.

I have very little to bitch about today- nothing worth typing. I'm just annoyed I'm finally feeling the motivation to do a lot and my body isn't capable. Though it wasn't so capable before (joint issues), so I'm technically getting more done in this nesting phase then I've done most of the pregnancy.

  • Someone in the office (and it's probably more than 1 person) takes the last coke out of the refrigerator regularly and doesn't replace the 6 pack with any from the shelf immediately beside the refrigerator so I get stuck with warm coke at lunch.  Yes, we have an ice machine, but I don't like my coke from a cup with this particular style of ice.  I just want my cold coke from a can, thankyouverymuch.  I'm limiting myself as it is on my caffeine intake, why make it that much harder for me?
An ice cold Coke can is the only way to drink a Coke.
I LOVE fountain diet coke.  Over a ton of ice.  It's the only way I drink coke.  I actually prefer all pop over ice.

DH jokes that I prefer my soda watery and kind of flat.

  • My bitch:  I drove to a meeting offsite with a CW this morning.  Coming home we drove past the place that has the most AMAZING milkshakes in life.  I didn't stop because I know she is allergic to dairy, and everything else they sell and I didn't want her to have to wait for me.

But now I'm going to crave one of those milkshakes until I get one.  And I'm never in that part of town. Sad panda.

  • I have a MBF #2 - Late Edition:

DH and I FINALLY have our move date for the moving company to pick up our stuff in WA and ship it to GA (where we are). I'm sure you've all read the story. Anyway, my mom said she would be there at the storage place to be the releasing agent. Date rolls around and oh... where is she? Paris, France. On a whim. Must be nice. The back-up releasing agent is my brother who says, "sure! I can be there to sign, blah blah blah...", but now he can't be there. So my SAINT MIL who lives like 100 miles away from the storage facility and DH's Uncle who is recovering from surgery have to step up and do the job that my family swore they'd help me with. I'm beyond embarrassed and pissed. My mom has a set of keys to the units that she didn't bother sending to my brother before she left for France... so DH and I had to send them airmail today for $35. PISSED. The End.

  • Ack stuck in weird grey...
Always call the library even if the online catalog says checked in. Especially in the summer.  Summertime may as well be the time of anarchy at public libraries for how often our children's areas get dismantled.  Picture book areas, especially.

May I suggest a few of the following books in the off-chance this will help:

Hello, Red Fox by Eric Carle
    Red Hat by Lita Ludge
    Red Wagon by Renata Liwska
The Red Boat by Hannah Cumming
Holly's Red Boots by Francesca Chessa
Monkey Red Monkey Blue by Nicki Greenburg
Little Red Bird by Nick Bruel

Those are all picture books, and maybe a library close to you will have one or more of them checked in. :)

Thanks! We did get The Red Boat today. I placed a hold for 4 other books to come to/get pulled at a library closer to me, so hopefully that will work.

  • I just toured the maternity ward this evening

MBF: they do ABSOLUTELY NO monitoring of visitors outside of labor and two hours after delivery. People could wander in any time, night or day and the staff rusn ZERO interference. Visitors don't even have to check-in!

I don't have any crazy family, so I hope this won't be a problem, but it still seems pretty outrageous that nobody cares about anyone's crazy family.

Visiting hours aren't enforced, unless kids are being too loud after 9 pm.

    THIS IS CRAZY, right?

Mine too and I also do the same thing!!

This is me tonight- I at least want a heads up before someone just shows up. They don't even have limits on how many people you can have at one time. I just wanna be calm quiet and undisturbed after having my insides come out of my body- either way you do it something terrible is going to happen. Now, I get to worry that my sils will bring all their kids to the hospital to visit and I don't want that mess.

Hmm...I visited my sister on Saturday after she had her baby on Friday and I never had to check in anywhere. I never thought twice about it. I don't think people have to check in at that hospital where I deliver, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I guess I'd never thought about it.

I'm convinced that I've got an ingrown hair on my upper inner thigh, but I am of course too big to see it well. I've tried propping a mirror up all kinds of angles but just can't get a good look at the thing. I already know my ladybits are going to be a hot mess when it's "show time" and I shouldn't care, but I don't want a red inflamed bump down there too. Of course, I can't leave the thing alone.

This might sound weird but have you tried sitting backwards on the toilet and then using a mirror? That's the only way I can see everything when I use my trimmer.
  • The hospital we are hoping to deliver at has 2pm-8pm visting hours and only two visitors aloud at a time, not sure how strict they are at it but I know if I want no one there the nurses can keep them out and one part is actually locked off. I told my mom about the visting hours and rules and she says she's don't care about there rules if she wants to be there she will.... we are trying to keep quiet of when we go into labor from everyone until we are ready so there isn't tones of people waiting.

  • They scheduled my c-section today for Thursday of next week. I'm officially freaking out. I tried to get it moved to the beginning of the following week, but the holiday weekend is making it difficult because things are already booked. My OB said there is a chance something could open up, but not for sure....and I did have the option to just wait and see if she turns and not schedule anything, but then I deal with the risk of an emergency c section if I go into labor and it esp being difficult with it happening on a holiday weekend. I know it's probably better to have it next week so I don't have to deal with the holiday weekend at the hospital even for recovery, but it makes me sad to know that she only has 10 days to turn around and then I will lose all chance to experience labor/vaginal birth. I know in my head it's best for the baby to do it this way, but it still sucks. I've also never had surgery, except for my wisdom teeth removal, so I think that's what's making me the most scared.

So then next week when I go in for my last "has she turned" u/s, u don't know if I should just accept the next day c section, or fight to see if they have something Monday or Tuesday of the next weekend. *sigh*

The military hospital I was going to deliver at had zero check in as well. BUT, the new place has a gate keeper at the front desk and a fancy machine where you have to scan in your driver's license to make a name badge with your picture on it. Then you have to ask the gate keeper to be let in. The baby has a GPS device on his leg after birth that will close and lock all the doors in the unit if he gets past a certain point without authorization. Crazy how different places are.
