Cloth Diapering

What's your favorite natural fiber insert?

Lately I've been reading a lot about the long list of cons of microfiber inserts. I hadn't even known a lot of my cloth diapering problems (stink, ammonia) were caused by using microfiber. I thought for the longest time it was my detergent. Anyway, long story short I'm thinking about totally getting rid of my microfiber inserts and replacing them with natural fiber inserts. My question is what kind of natural fiber insert do you guys recommend? I would like to make my own so if you could be specific that would be awesome. TIA!

  • I stuff my pockets/covers with flats. They're cheap and easy to wash and best of all they don't have that nasty mf feel.

This. My mf has started to give me stink issues with my hard well water...ugh. I hate pockets lately too though. I just got a bunch of Chelory FTF snap in inserts that are made with bamboo/Zorb and they're pretty awesome so far. Bonus! They're pretty colors too!

  • I use Kawaii bamboo. Cheap, and they go on sale sometimes.

The only natural fibre inserts I have right now are AppleCheeks bamboo. They are expensive but I love them. They are so soft and absorb amazingly well.

  • GMD flats. They're inexpensive and wash up easily. And they are our go-to for stuffing pockets especially when we are traveling, since we often find ourselves without a dryer.

I also like the GMD hemp and Thirsties hemp, but they need more time to dry, so when we travel they stay at home.
