Hi,

I just wanted to say I am so happy I found this site. Husband and I have been talking about a second child forever. We keep going back and forth about it. Mainly I feel really guilty not giving a sibling to our daughter. I am slowly working through those feelings.  I am so glad that I am not the only one out there.

Welcome! I too sometimes feel guilty that dd won't have a playmate but we are just making extra efforts to get together with cousins and friends. It can work out just fine!

As an older only..  I got this a few months ago:

"Mom, I'm glad I have no brothers or sisters.  I can play with my friends and have fun, and then leave them and go home where it's quiet!!!"  :P   So don't feel guilty. Not every only child feels lonely.
