Introduction of Mike and Alex!

Hello,
Been a lurker for a bit since I got the news we might see our twins early. Thank you all for the great stories and advise.

Mike and Alex were born this morning at 33w4d by emergency c-section due to pre-e. They weigh 5lb 3oz and 4lb 13oz and are doing well. Mike is on a cpap but Alex is in the clear.

I am nervous about this journey and hope to take part in this community to give and receive support.

Congratulations on the birth of your boys!! It sounds like they're doing great, and those are some good weights!! Hopefully their NICU stays are short and you'll have them home with you soon. Silly little coincidence: my brother's name is Alex and my parents were convinced I'd be a boy and were planning on naming me Michael. Good name choices :). Welcome to the board!

  • Hehe awesome. :) Alex is a girl however! Short for Alexandra. Guess I will have to get used to people making that assumption...

  • Thank you all! It's been a week now and both are doing well. They off oxygen and will be out and into regular cribs in the next two days. We got to feed them bottles for the first time today as well as the boob tonight.

There is still a ways to go before we get them home, but it feels like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
