Best Bottoms Hemp Inserts

I just got a dozen medium hemp inserts in the mail.  They are massive.  Like MASSIVE.  Way bigger than the inserts I had for my BB training pants.  So tell me, how much shrinkage should I expect?  It would need to be more than a 3rd for me to want to keep them.  They're huge,

I have the larges on 15-16 lb babies and they are really thin and trim. Do you think they are too long or thick? They do shrink, but probably not by a third.

I felt like my smalls were freakishly huge when I got them, but in use they seem just right. Fwiw.

Do you have any stay dry mediums? I can't find the post anymore, but a few days ago (in a thread with a random title, not something about BBs) someone posted pics of all three sizes in both stay dry and hemp. The large hemp and medium hemp were almost the same size. The medium hemp and medium stay dry were pretty similar. The large stay dry were much larger.

I only have larges. I used them on the smallest rise in my BB covers. I only had to tuck a teeny bit in. I got them used, so I don't know how much they shrink.

ETA they are a little under 13 inches long.

The hemp will shrink some (when I first got mine the hemp smalls looked as long as the MF mediums and the Hemp mediums nearly as long as the MF Large, and the Hemp Large about the size or slightly longer than the MF large).   The hemp inserts being so thin/trim are also easier to bunch up a little without being bulky.  The Hemp inserts are all wider than the MF inserts.  This is how they all compare prepped.  (But I don't have the training inserts to compare.)

Okay I prepped them. I boiled them for 15 minutes then I washed them 5 times on hot and dried them in between.  They hardly shrunk at all and my size large training pants insert is still a good inch shorter.  Weird Weird. 

I have the rise on the smallest setting my baby is just about 9-10 lbs and just fits on the smallest setting of the dipe (both rise and closure)  The insert will snap in this way, but it fits better on the second rise setting and is way less bulky. 

I'm thinking I just have to adjust my expectations, lol.  I could order some smalls, while I think they'd probably fit perfectly now, I don't think we'll get enough use out of them to justify the price, like maybe a month-6 weeks and then we'd be moving up the rise setting anyway, so I'll either find a way to get comfortable with these or I'll just use my covers with prefolds and workhorses for now.

We used the small inserts until she was 6 months old. And I agree that the medium and large hemp are nearly the same size, but the stay dry are quite a bit larger.

If you have him on the middle rise already @ovenrack‌ I would get larges and skip mediums. I prefer the stay dry during the day, and hemp overnight.

I was trying to convince myself lace was gender neutral because it was black. Kind of a rocky horror thing. We have hedgehog and foxy frolick. I don't like giraffes plus I have blueberry giraffes in snaps and aplix already.

How does the distance between the snaps compare between the medium hemp and the large hemp?

Gah she doesn't fit them yet.  The insert created gaping around the leg and she peed clear out of it and all over my lap while I was feeding her and holding her on my stomach so that her side was facing down.  Boooo.  I think I need small inserts, but......sigh money. 

How much more absorbent is the hemp than the micro?  I could justify spending like 20 bucks on a few just to try them/
