Homemade Deodorant

I finally got mine in the mail, and I love it! It works amazing! H even wore it one day and he didn't smell at all. He thinks it smells like almond joys. :)

I want to make some with the same ingredients as the one I bought, but I'm having a hard time finding a consistent recipe. They all seem to have different amounts of ingredients.

My biggest concern is making a big batch and having it be too soft and melty. I want it in a stick and put it in my medicine cabinet.

This one contains cornstarch/ arrowroot powder, (not sure if she used both or one?? ) baking soda, coconut oil, beeswax and vitamin E.

I think the beeswax is what makes it more solid. So maybe make a small batch and see how it works. If it's softer than you want add more beeswax next time.

FWIW I use arrowroot, coconut oil, and baking soda (1-2-2) per the advice of the wise MK. Mine is soft but solid unless it's warmer than like 74 in my house. Then it gets a bit mushy. I just put it in my fridge.

  • I put extra beeswax in mine because I wanted it firmer.

  • Does the beeswax do anything besides firm it up?

  • I use one from a blog called crunchy Betty. Google "not a secret homemade deoderant" and it will come right up. I add a little baking soda and extra beeswax.

  • And I always get beeswax pellets which are much easier to measure and melt.

  • Uhm. Idk. A teaspoon probably of baking soda and I think I do two rounded tablespoons of bees wax pellets.

  • I want mine unscented, should I add more oil to replace the essential oils or would it make a difference?
