So when did you start BDing again?

So I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday via IVF.  I had bleeding during week 5 and 6 and my RE told me to take it easy so obviously no sex.  I had my first OB app at 10 weeks and I asked my OB if we could have intercourse? He said YES I give you permission to but only with your husband....lol.  I'm just nervous to do it again? I feel like something will mess up.  Probably stupid IF brain since I worry about everything.  My DH is more than ready.  

When did you start bding again?  Were you nervous? Any issues?  

II'm thinking maybe after the NT scan on Tuesday, if everything goes well, but we'll see.

I went back to bding 2 weeks after my bleed. My re gave me the all clear, but was still very nervous. Over the past 4 weeks or so it has gotten a lot easier, mentally. But I think your ob is awesome for the joke! I think you will be fine to have some fun time with DH.

except to add one more detail, the times during 2nd tri when I was feeling energetic, DH was just too anxious about it, and the whole time consisted with him saying "u ok" "does ur stomach hurt" "u sure its safe for the babies"

needless to say thats just a total mood killer, so we haven't been doing anything.

is it awful we still haven't yet? my intention was to wait until the 2nd trimester, and we even went on a really nice romantic vacation...but it didn't happen. I think we've both nervous, we've even talked about it, even though I'm sure it's completely safe. I'm sure it will happen soon, but oddly enough, it hasn't affected how close we feel. we've been together long enough, and the feeling of expecting a baby together is something so different that even the best sex can't touch.

During that crazy tired phase from week 6 to week 10, the mood and energy just weren't there. RE had lifted the "no sex" restriction once heartbeat was seen at 6 weeks. After week 10, there was less fatigue and we sorted of eased back into things. 

DH was concerned about harming the LO, but we found different positions helped with that concern. It's just getting to the point where bump becomes part of the action and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about it. :P

Thanks so much ladies.  You all made me feel better. I want to get through the NT scan on Tuesday and I'm also stopping PIO and Suppositories tomorrow and then we'll see if we are ready.  I am a worrier but if my OB isn't concerned I'm gonna TRY and believe him.  I also feel like crap so thats definitely a mood killer.  Hopefully I'll feel better in 2nd tri.

We just waited until after we heard the heartbeats. So I think i was 7 weeks at that point.

Update: DH just got back from a trip and was all about it.  SOOOO we did it!  It was fine.  Quick and easy.  Ha, usually thats not a good thing, but in this case it was.  I said don't go crazy and he totally didn't.  I wasn't even nervous.  No bleeding or anything so I'm feeling good about it.  

P.S. Last night of PIO and suppositories!  WOO HOO happy to be in week 12.

Yay  Do be aware that BDing can cause spotting up to 24 hours later.  Don't panic.    The two times I had spotting, when I called the RE's office, that was their first question.

(In my case: As soon as RE gave us the go-ahead - which was at 8 weeks, when my cysts had resolved.)

Congrats on stopping the meds!! That was really a HUGE step in my journey. I am glad to hear you are doing so well!

We've been doing it like 2X week since the 2WW. I haven't had any spotting tho.. if I did, I think I would be waiting until 2nd tri too. But just wanted to share my experience bc it's been safe for us!

At around 10 weeks, RE converted me from PIO to 3x daily progesterone capsules in the vag. That put a damper on fun for several weeks as neither H nor I wanted to deal with the mess.

Thanks ladies. So far so good.  Its been 24 hours and no spotting.  I have my NT scan tomorrow so now I get to be nervous for that.  Always something.  BUT off PIO which is very exciting!

We were never on any restriction except for a few days before egg retrieval so we never took a break. I refused to switch from PIO to the suppositories because I didnt want it to affect my sex life- the one part of our lives we tried very hard through IF to keep as normal as possible. The nausea and tiredness have taken over the last few weeks so it's been few and far between but I think I turned a corner last week and things have gotten better. Once you relax, sex while pregnant is a lot of fun. I seriously think the orgasms are more intense

I had a major bleed from a SCH at 8 weeks. I'm now 13 and a half weeks and am still on pelvic rest. Even if the MFM said I was cleared, I think I'd be too scared to.

I have had 2 bleeding incidents due to a SCH and I am still benched. Even if I am cleared, I would probably be nervous.

I had an SCH so I was afraid to let anything other than the vagcam into my vagina.  The SCH resolved at 8 weeks.  I think we waited until 9 weeks to have at it.

We were busy all during the tww, but as soon as that BFP it all stopped. DH was scared of causing something to go wrong. We did it once after I graduated to the OB around 10 weeks and then about once a week from week 12 until week 21....that is when the bump was more noticeable (it creeps DH out) and things just got uncomfortable. We have been trying...but the last attempt was two weeks ago and it wasn't pretty. I think we might be done until after the baby comes. It just isn't pleasurable for either of us any more

We never stopped BDing. Several weeks ago, I did have a bleeding episode after sex but it was just my cervix being super sensitive. We gave it a few days before BDing again. My sex drive has been out of control.
