AW: Talking explosion

I am just blown away by DD's language.  She was a pretty slow walker and a very difficult baby so I know that she talked early because it helped her communicate and it is just blowing my mind.  We have lost count of words at 70 and joke about the "word of the day" now since they are popping up that fast.  Some of them are not enunciated correctly but she is consistently using them and says short phases like "daddy's at work" and "down slide!".  It has really helped with decreaing tantrums because she can make her needs/wants known better and I'm so thankful for that.  Anyway, I just needed to voice how insane little people are and how amazed I am at their spongy minds.

  • Wow - that's pretty verbal!!!  Our big surprise this week was when we were reading "Goodnight Moon" - DD pointed at the red balloon in the book and said "red balloon."  I always point these things out to her, but you never really know what they are taking in.

  • Yeah that I think it what amazes me the most.  She loves to read books and we just started noticing that she was able to point out so much more than she was even saying and then one day it started and it just took off.  The amount that they are absorbing is just overwheming to me.  So awesome and fun.  :)

Yesterday's word were butterfly and belt.  Teehee.

Yup, ds is hitting that these last couple weeks too. Today, he pointed at my my sour cream and said "ice cream," then proceeded to stick his finger in and taste it, lol. He realized quickly that's not what it was, but I was still amazed that he said it. He's starting to repeat everything.

My DH has been teaching our DD to count 1-5 well Saturday we were in the car and all of a sudden she started to count.  We were amazed!  Of course everytime I would pull out my phone to record it she would stop..lol
