1st Trimester

Please tell me I'm not the only one

I am 6W and have been nauseous for a week now (that's how I found out). Nothing helps it, and I have tried EVERYTHING that has been recommended. It lasts all day, slightly lessens at night, but abdominal cramping starts then. I just at this point need to know I'm not the only one suffering!
This is my first child, but it's hard getting excited when so miserable!

Re: Please tell me I'm not the only one

  • I've been feeling like that for the past week my first pregnancy also. I'm 6 weeks as well. My stomach has been so uncomfortable I don't want to eat anything. Last night was the first night I actually ate a small but proper meal. Def hard to get excited when your feeling miserable. Hopefully it will pass for you too. I have a friend that has been on bed rest since 5 weeks, she is 8 weeks now and has to stay on bed rest another month as she has hyperemesis. Hang in there your not the only one.

  • Nicb I understand I'm not the only person with nausea, but sometimes it's just comforting to know others are in the same situation!
  • Ash I'm sorry you feel so crummy! I don't know if you can get it where you live but in Canada we can get a pill called diclectin for morning sickness... Might be worth looking into if it gets really bad! Feel better!
  • I've been nauseated 24 hours a day the past 5 days. I'm absolutely miserable. I'm not vommiting, but doing a lot of dry heaving. And nothing sounds good to eat. I'm already so sick of saltines and ginger ale I'm about to go crazy. I have been able to still work this week but if I can't next week I'm going to call my OB for Zofran to see if it helps. It helps knowing you're not alone!

    But, why?

I remember in my first pregnancy I had no idea that what I was going through was that normal. I too would have posted something similar. I'm on baby #5 now, and I almost got sick in the meat department from the look of the BBQ chickens. Your not alone darlin. Keep some saltine crackers, and homemade ginger tea on hand. Tiny bites, and little sips. It will pass, and if it doesn't... See about some meds.
