A little help

Hello everyone. My name's Alyssa and I hope no one is uncomfortable with me being on this sight. I'm not pregnant or currently trying to get pregnant. I'm here because my sister recently found out she is pregnant. I want to be able to support her in the best way possible and be able to share some great information with her. Also, I really want to get her a congratulations gift but pinterest is failing me on a good gift for 10 weeks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: A little help

  • Get her something for HER. Like take her to get a mani/pedi. Or put together a gift basket of her favorite snacks/treats. Or a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant, since she probably doesn't feel like cooking as much as normal.

  • I will tell you from a personal experience that a gift for the baby it's not appreciated...at least for me. When we announced our pregnancy at 5 weeks i was a little nervous and overwhelmed. My birthday was a day after we made the announcement and my brother and sister in law got us baby stuff. It was sweet but a little too much. I suggest you buy her something she will need like a body pillow or maybe just bubble bath and a relaxing cd. I'm 9 weeks now and its so nice to engage in self care especially because I'm tired alllllll the time.
  • Like PPs said, I'd wait to get anything baby-specific or pregnancy-specific until much later in the pregnancy, and for those things I'd ask your sister what she wants.

For now, like PPs suggested, something comforting for your sister is a nice gift.
