We never close the door to the bathroom in our house... I'm realizing this isn't a good habit to teach a little one, so I guess we'll have to make an adjustment.
:-/
I rarely ever latch the bathroom door. I close it but usually not all the way. I grew up in a house with one bathroom and 4 women (my poor dad haha) so our bathroom door was always left open, unless my Dad was in there then we knew to stay out. You might as well leave it open because your LO will want to visit you in there anyway haha.
ETA: DH also rarely shuts the door mainly because he just doesnt care and knows it doesnt bother me.
It creeps me out that there is a dad on this board. I am fully aware that this is a public forum and anyone can read our posts, but we had a dad get super involved in my original BMB and FB group and made us ladies extremely uncomfortable. He would get involved in threads that were completely inappropriate for him to be commenting on. Eventually we ran him off. I hope this dude only goes so far as to post on the what team are you on thread.

Um, what? I know I don't read every thread but when did this happen? Also, I don't think that I feel uncomfortable with a dude on here, but I'm a pretty open person and tell random people TMI all the time. I totally understand that others would feel uncomfortable.

1. My glucose test was a fasting one at 7am and I generally have blood sugar issues if I go too long without breakfast anyway, so chugging that super sugared drink on an empty stomach and waiting around is no fucking picnic. I crashed so hard a couple hours later, even after trying to eat through my nausea. I don't think I'm a cry baby.
2. DH and I are both totally open door with the bathroom, but we do keep it closed these days just to keep DS out of things we haven't baby proofed in there yet so I'm hoping this will translate into a new closed door policy for privacy sake with the kids.
3. If we're taking drink orders I'll have a pina colada please with top shelf rum. Thanks!
@wrightpalomo Pump and dump isn't necessary. Alcohol enters and leaves your breastmilk the same as it does your blood. A general rule of thumb is 'if you're sober enough to drive (legally), you're sober enough to nurse'. Dealing with baby's schedule and your own needs (re: engorgement) while drinking just takes some forethought. Nurse or pump right before going out for a couple drinks. If you do get engorged while you're still buzzed you can pump a little and dump it to relieve pressure, but you don't have to pump and dump it all. Not to sound like an expert on drinking and nursing or anything.
I see no issue with a guy lurking or posting here. After all it's not ALL about womanly pregnancy issues. Especially if we're talking about parenting, budgeting, family life things. A male perspective is a nice thing to have.
ETA- and I think some men should be reading the stuff we post to give them more of an idea of what we're going through
andplusalso if you have issues with a guy reading the stuff you post, then don't post it on a public internet forum
I love being team green but at the same time I hate it. I hate listening to everyone tell me what Im having like they had a special peek into my uterus and know something I dont.
Here's my confession: on the days I'm feeling really really exhausted, I turn a movie on for DS and knock out. On those days I'm extra happy we waited till he was almost 4 for #2
Is it bad that I'm celebrating passing my GD test by getting a Dairy Queen Blizzard?
No. I'm making myself a cake. Of course in going to pass it off as a loving gesture on Fathers Day but no one in my house will be fooled. They all know it is for me.

This is exactly why I didn't do team green with DH this second time around. I think he has it easier doing team green because he's not walking around pregnant...just begging random comments from strangers like I am.

I think its bothering me more this time around because I really wanted to find out, DH didnt want to and I know I couldnt keep that secret. I dont mind the "I think its a _____" sayings it the "Oh you ARE having a _______" ones that are really getting under my skin. EVERYONE thought I was having a girl last time, I had a feeling I was having a boy but figured it would be a girl because Im usually wrong when it comes to guessing that kind of stuff, well I was right we had a boy. Well Im kind of having the same feeling that we are having another boy and again EVERYONE is saying we are having a girl.

People are just obnoxious. I very clearly saw a penis at my u/s (tech pointed it out) and yet people are ARGUING with me that it's probably actually a girl because I'm carrying "soooo high.". I carried my son the exact same way and he's clearly a boy, soooo.....

Oh these comments are wonderful too! I will hear "you are carrying high, its a boy" from one person and the next will say "you are carrying high, its a girl" OK.....so which is it? Last pregnancy someone (a coworker) had me stick out my tongue in a way that they could see the veins on the bottom of my tongue and told me I was having a girl because of what color they were. Yeah she was wrong!

The tongue thing is crazy! Wow.
I got 100% from any woman over 45 that I was carrying low so it was a boy. EVERY. SINGLE. RANDOM. WOMAN. It got really old really fast. My co-workers who knew I was so sick and always asked what I was eating were leaning more towards girl based on other OWTs. *eyeroll*
This time around I know we're having a girl and DH is still team green. I'm finding it surprisingly easy to keep the secret from DH. I was really worried about it and really upset that he wouldn't budge as we were coming up on the A/S..... but in the end I found out and he didn't and 7 weeks later he still doesn't know. It's actually funny because one day something we talk about and how I talk about it will lead him to believe we are having a boy, then a couple days later we MUST be having a girl, and so on. :P
@Everyusernameistaken My mom still believes that the u/s was wrong. I keep telling her that I'm 99.9999% sure that it was pretty obvious that LO is a boy.
Well CLEARLY her intuition and the way you're carrying trump medical science
I had no issue when he started posting on my original BMB, but he got a lot too involved to the point where it was creepy once we migrated to FB.
I know I'm late to this but I've been outta town so meh.
I'm not at all creeped out by a man on our board. Hell, I'd go as far as to say some of you "ladies" are men. And some of the women on these boards creep me out far more than a man probably could.... As for the Facebook thing, well all I can say is this is why I'm particular about Facebook groups.
