Angelcare parent unit beeping?

We bought our Angelcare second hand from consignment, and it's worked wonderfully until now. All of a sudden the parent units beep loudly when the nursery unit is switched off. It wasn't doing this before. Previously I'd get up for MOTN feeding and switch off the nursery unit and the parent unit would stay on, but inactive, until the nursery unit was turned back on. I don't know what changed and I've tried searching for something I may have pressed by accident and can't figure it out. Anyone know how to get the beeping to stop?

We're also losing LCD's on both units. That started a couple weeks ago on one and the last couple days on the other. They're readable, but it's getting difficult.

Really hoping this thing isn't going to crap out on us :(

Re: Angelcare parent unit beeping?

  • I don't know if I'm any help but we have the Motorola one. And every time u turn camera off in babies room the parent unit would always beep too cause it's searching for signal or whatever. So when we turn camera off I have to turn off parent unit too. But that's weird yours didn't do that before and now it beeps. I guess as long as it works great I guess u have to start turning parent unit off too. Kind of annoying though

  • It's because it's lost signal from the base. Not sure why it just started doing it; all I can suggest is that I know when I first got mine, I would accidentally end up in the menu all the time. Maybe something got turned on that way? I don't know which model you have, but if you go to the angelcare website, all the user manuals are available. You need to get to the little satellite dish symbol, and switch if to "OF". Keep in mind though that this means it won't beep if you go out of range with it. I just tested mine and made sure it worked all over the house, then turned it off. That said, I also use it on "continuous monitoring", so it's pretty obvious if it's not picking anything up!

  • @thelittlepear‌ that sounds like what changed. I couldn't decide if the blinking satellite was always there, but felt like it wasn't. I'll change it tonight and see if that doesn't stop the beeping. We also use continuous, so I already know if I'm out of range, and we often have a unit on on both floors, so I don't want to run around turning off everything.

    Thanks!
