Sleep and cry?

DS is 3.5 weeks and the last 2
Days he has spent the second half if the day sleeping in spurts of 20 minutes and then is inconsolably crying. He seems to want to nurse but won't settle enough. Anyone experience this? We are using gripe water as well to help with gas.

Re: Sleep and cry?

  • Sounds like overly tired baby. What works for us is taking a hair dryer on the warm and low setting and blow drying baby while he lies on a blanket. Obviously check temp settings and keep it far enough away so to not burn. Something about the heat and white noise lulls him to sleep.

  • My LO does this almost every night from around 7-9. He sleeps in small increments and constantly needs something in his mouth. If I let him nurse, he comfort sucks and then spits up from eating too much so he loves the pacifier. They say babies are more fussy in the evenings but not sure why
