Trouble TTC

TTC post Mirena with PCOS

Hey ladies,
It's been a while since I last posted on the Bump's message boards but DH and I have decided that it is time we start TTC again.  DD is now two and a half and has been requesting a baby "brudder" or "sissy" so we figured what better time?!  I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism before conceiving DD...went a year actively TTC with no luck and basically gave up and BOOM pregnant naturally within a couple of months.  We are getting ready to go to the Dominican Republic for our five year wedding anniversary on the 21st of June and I am having my IUD removed the 16th of June (next Monday).  I have been reading all sorts of success and unfortunately just as many unsuccessful stories, however, haven't seen anyone post with PCOS.  I have also been taking Estradiol 2mg for about a month now due to having some brown spotting every other week with the Mirena.  I know some OB's say to wait a full cycle before TTC due to being too thinned out, but with me being on the Estradiol and "fluffing" up my uterine lining I am hoping this will help if you will.  I would love to hear of any success stories of anyone getting their BFP post Mirena removal who has PCOS.  Thanks!!
**I also posted on the trying to conceive board as well :)

Re: TTC post Mirena with PCOS

  • Hi, there. Congrats on your DD after experiencing trouble TTC...that's a wonderful blessing.

I would like to gently suggest that you read the info for new posters to the forum, because a lot of what you've written lacks sensitivity toward what TTTC forum is all about and could easily trigger our pain, as well as just hurt because you hadn't taken the time to get to know the norms of the forum before jumping in (such as talk of previous child without a warning - most here are trying for their 1st; a "wow I got pregnant when I wasn't even trying" story from left field; seeking advice from women struggling with infertility (1+ year of unsuccessful TTC or 6+ months if over 35) when you're still in the planning stages of stopping BC; and finally asking for success stories on a forum of women who are unsuccessful by definition, since although some may have achieved success, you'd probably do better asking on a board for pregnant women or mothers, without offending anyone). Good luck!

  • My apologies....I did not mean to offend anyone.  I too struggled with infertility and by the grace of God conceived.  This is the only reason I posted on the TTTC board, because I still have PCOS and have been having major issues with my IUD that could lead to not being able to conceive again.  Thank you for your responses never-the-less.  I wish you both the best of luck.

  • The kind of trouble have on this board isn't the same kind of trouble you had. Giving up will not work. Most of us have been trying for years. Many have endured surgeries and multiple IUIs or IVF. We have spent thousands of dollars on treatments and have been diagnosed with infertility.

This is why don't like the "bam! I got pregnant" posts.

    Best of luck to you.

  • Like I said, I am so sorry if I had offended anyone...that was not the intention of this post at all.  I wish you the best of luck.
