33 wks 2days very uncomfortable / need to vent

I see my OB every week now for an ultrasound checking cervical length and a baby biophysical check.  Last check my cervix has started to funnel but is still 3.8cm thick.  I am having pains in my back between my shoulder blades.  My stomach feels full all the time like I have pigged out and the babies seem to be moving more than ever.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Also, feel swollen and engorged in my vaginal area the pressure is terrible and my groin feel so sore.  Sometimes I feel like I could go into labor any moment but since my cervix is still closed don't now how much this is just in my head.   Sorry for the rant but I am just ready to be done.  Hope the rest of you ladies in the 3rd trimester are doing well.

Thanks ladies just one of those bad weeks. I try and not complain to anyone else but I know here people can relate. So we will see on Thursday how things look.

  • I'm totally there with you, like pretty much feeling the same stuff. My guys have been moving more, too, which is great but also soo uncomfortable! I feel like they shouldn't be able to move so much anymore, but apparently they have plenty of space. I feel like it could be any day now, but my cervix has been totally shut, too! Just know you're definitely not alone and they'll be here before you know it. :)

  • Hello! I don't post much over on this board but my twinsies are almost 8 months now.

I got pulled out of work at 33 weeks and was basically told to stay off my feet. If you haven't already been directed to do that it may be a good time. My cervix was closed as well but my swelling was getting worse while working. Those last few weeks totally suck and it's so hard to imagine even getting through them. It's time to start (if you haven't already) taking it easy.

Good luck! You're so close now!

  • Same here! My pelvis hurts so bad, I can hardly walk sometimes. Also sleep is impossible. I can't fall asleep, then once I do I wake up every hour or so. How's everyone else sleeping?

  • I hear ya. I'm lucky if I sleep 3/4 hours a night and not continuous :(
  • DH and DD both have colds and are coughing through the night. It wakes me up, and of course, every time I wake up I have to go pee. My back and my hips take turns in which one feels like it's going to fall off on any given day. DD (3 1/2 years old) wants me to pick her up and carry her around today. We comprimised, I'm not doing anything today, but we're sitting on the couch cuddling. I've caught the cold, but thus far it's been kinder to me than them.
  • At 35 weeks I was done. Then my OB basically told me to suck it up saying, "every woman at 35 weeks regardless of how many babies she is carrying is feeling the same way you are." I left the office not feeling bad for myself and it helped me through the next 3 weeks tremendously.

It's great you've kept them in so long already! The longer they stay in the sooner they go home with you!! Try not to dwell on the pain and discomfort because it won't help. Find a good book or TV series and get lost in it. You're doing great!

  • I'm 33 weeks today and I feel the same way. The heat and humidity does not help. DH complains that we keep the house freezing but sorry dude, you're not carrying twins!

Sleeping is awful-I'm usually up every 1.5-2 hours to go to the bathroom and just to walk around because my hips hurt so bad.

I was pulled from work at 28 weeks due to cervical shortening and since then my cervix has done better. Modified bed rest has helped and I honestly feel better sitting around with my legs up-if you're still working maybe talk to your doctor. Either way, make sure you aren't doing too much around the house!

I think this was kind of a BS thing for your OB to say.  I'm 35 weeks today and 35 weeks with twins is way harder than 35 with my singleton was.  I was nowhere near the miserable.

Glad it worked for me too! It was my first pregnancy so maybe she was tricking me, but everyone on my BMB was definitely miserable at 35w!

I was definitely uncomfortable though! I hated being on my feet, hated wearing clothes, was too big to drive, couldn't sleep, couldn't walk the dog, my stomach skin was stretched so thin, and I was sooo heavy. It just helped me knowing I wasn't the only one and that it was "normal" to feel that way. Misery loves company? And I didn't know any better... Maybe my next pregnancy will be a walk in the park and I will punch my OB in the neck.

Thank you all so glad the feeling is not just me. I wish I could get some relaxation but things are so stressful at home know we are having to pack up and move because our landlord decided he wants to sell our place.  Also, my 2 boys are just full of energy and wanted to be outside.
