5 weeks and closed cervix-- bleeding on the outside?

today my doctor told me i'm 5 weeks and 2 days! got an ultrasound too and the baby is healthy and so am i. but i told him i've been spotting for 3 days and that i have to wear a pad and having some cramping so i am worried. he told me it was normal to spot but checked and told me that my cervix is closed but i am bleeding on the outside of my cervix. i have no idea what this means? hoping someone could better explain to me.

yes but not rough sex at all, and my doctor did say my uterus is blown up like a balloon nice and good. i just worry and never heard that before so wanted to know what others went through and should i take it easy?

I had the same thing happen to be around 6 weeks and the doctor told me my cervix was closed and I had an ultrasound and my baby is fine, I bleed for 5 days and all the doctor told me it could be from sex or a small tear around my cervix but not to worry it will go away and it did I'm not 9 weeks and haven't had any bleeding or spotting since, it's scary I went to 2 doctors just to make sure.

Best advice, educate yourself.

Google. pregnancy books, etc.

If you soak a pad within an hour, or get excessive bright red bleeding, then you should get rechecked, otherwise, try to relax, I know it's hard, trust me. If your doc isn't worried right now, take it as a good sign. especially since your u/s gave you a solid picture that your baby is fine.

the blood is red but my doctor said it's ok. i can't read that stuff i'll get worked up.

i bleed more than i ever had tonight and i cried so much but then read your comments and now keeping my spirits up thank you so much! i hear the heartbeat the 26th!
