How much is LO eating at a sitting? We are at 4 weeks and am trying to do a little comparison.

My mother exclusively breastfed and has the 'baby can't over eat' mentality.. So she is finding my pumping and supplementing odd.

I've been trying to feed when she acts hungry (every 2-3 hours some mornings she will eat very frequently) and do 3-3.5 oz and then yesterday my mom gave her 6oz in a sitting while I was at my dr appt. She slept for 4 hours and then woke up in terrible gas pains and had the WORST diaper explosion.

(Apologies for thoughts not organized well, exhausted mom while husband is out of town for a month! )

I'm EPing and supplementing about 1/2 and 1/2. We're at 2wks and he eats about every 3hrs. 3.5-4oz. I have the same over eating concerns, we have a pedi app tomorrow and I'm going to ask more about it then. 6oz seems like too much at once. I put a paci in after awhile to see if he is really hungry or just wants to suck for comfort.

Wow that seems like an outrageous amount for a 4 week old! My LO (6week) is at about 2-3 oz every 2 hours and his pedi said that's what his little stomach is supposed to be at at his age.

I am always worried about this too! Mine has packed away 5 oz but with bad results like gas and spitting up. I start with 3 oz if breastmilk and add more BM or formula, depending on how much I have stashed in the fridge. I try not to go above 4 at i nce but it's hard cause sometimes he just doesn't seem satisfied. I really wonder if some babies hunger cue even when they're not hungry? It just seems crazy that a 3 week old would need that much food!

My guy is 4 weeks and he's eating 3-5 oz every 2-5 hours. He's also over 12#. We start with a 4 oz bottle and sometimes he wants more. Lee do burp him often and use gas drops as needed, haven't had any poosplosions (yet!).

We give 1 bottle a night. My LO is almost 4 weeks and usually eats 3oz.

Zoe is almost 7 weeks and she eats about 2-3 oz every 2 hours or so. Sometimes she eats more or less, or goes a longer stretch of time without eating.

Does your mom know how to give a bottle? Maybe she did it too fast. When DD- started daycare at 6w she ate 2.5oz every 2 hours. Daycare switched her to 3oz every 3hours. Then a couple months later she went up to 3.5oz and another 2 months later 4oz. 6oz seems like way too much for such a young baby.

DS is 7 weeks and takes 3oz every 2-3 hours during the day and 4oz every 4-5 hours at night. He has taken up to 7oz during growth spurts (he had a big one around 4 weeks). I was worried i was overfeeding him but my pedi said as long as he isn't spitting up he is fine.

LO is 3+ weeks and she eats 3-4 oz every 3-4 hours. We are EPing.

DS was a hearty eater, and he took 4-5 oz by 3 weeks eith very little spitting up.
