Who wants to click some names?!

So none of these names are necessarily end game, but boy names have been really hard for me and DH to agree on! And I don't like to ask close friends/family for their input because I don't want to hear negative opinions. Internet strangers, however...opine away!

Disclaimer: Carl as a middle name is after DH's grandfather, and I want it paired with a multi-syllable first name. Daniel is my dad's name and I would pair it with a one-syllable first name.

I love the name Nate, whether it's short for Nathan or Nathaniel.  I think I like the historical feeling of Nathaniel better, but I like the ease of Nathan more, if that makes sense.

This is EXACTLY why I can't decide between the two! I love them both, and the nn would be Nate for either. I do feel like Nathaniel is a little bit more historical and upper-crusty (which I love), but Nathan is more easy-going and modern (which I also like).

That's a tough one! My faves in order of preference are:

Nathan Carl
Ethan Carl
Seth Daniel

I voted Seth Daniel because I feel like I dont hear of many people named Seth. However I also like Ethan Carl.

Seth Daniel is my favorite and I agree with PP about not hearing it often. Seth was in my top 5, but DH vetoed it because he went to high school with a boy by that name and didn't care for him. 8-|

Seth is my own personal top choice but DH doesn't like it. He says it sounds evil. Whatever! I like that it's short, simple, and fairly uncommon yet still an old enough name to be familiar. I keep trying to wear him down on it but until then, it's a no. Not ready to give up, though

I like Nathaniel Carl, personally. A friend of mine's little one is named Nathaniel, and it's a lovely name!

Also, for Seth Daniel...I find it doesn't flow off my tongue very well when said with both names. I, personally, like when a middle name is easier to say following a first name

I love Seth and Ethan! Seth was in our top 5 for DS although I would've preferred Ethan but DH vetoed it.

Ethan is pretty popular on this thread, but my concern is that it's also too popular in life. My MIL is a teacher and says she has several Ethans in each of her classes. It's a great name, but I don't want my son sharing his name with 5 other kids in class. Le sigh.

I voted for Nathaniel but I am biased. It is the boy name for our b/g twins. I like the full name Nathaniel and if they want a NN later they can pick one.

I'm partial to Ethan because that is ds name. But Nathan/ Nathaniel (we had the same dilemma) was on our list for him and for if this baby was a boy.

I think I like Nathaniel better than Nathan, but let's say the last name is "Trimbel" (it's not, but sounds similar enough)...I worry the double "el" ending will sound weird together.

Especially with Carl as the middle name. Way too many ending 'el's.

I pick Nathaniel Carl. To me Nathan and Nate are both nicknames for Nathaniel and he could go by either if he wants to when he is older.

I really like Nathan Carl and William Carl. Not crazy about the other two. I also live both Will and Nate as NNs.
