Baby Names

Baby Elton

Met an adorable newborn this weekend named Elton. I thought his name was pretty cool. Thoughts?

Re: Baby Elton

  • I would never use it but I kind of love it.

I dunno, it feels almost like naming a kid Elvis. Not quite, but almost.
This...and it makes me think of Clueless.

  • I think it is fine.......Elton is adorable! I think it is more like Linus then it is like Elvis .
  • Elton is ok, nms but I don't feel an Elvis vibe off it at all. Very different names to me.

  • @bromios‌ FWIW I definitely don't feel that Elton John makes this name unusable.

My partner has a great name which is strongly associated with a prominent historical figure. He does get comments about it from time to time but not so many to plague him or make him sorry for his name.

My partners name will forever be associated with that historical figure but the Elton to Elton John association will continue to decrease in significant, imo. The majority of such a child's contemporaries will probably not even know him.
