Potty Problems

edited June 2014 in April 2014 Moms
Oh boy...DD1 just ate the scrubbing bubbles toilet gel! I need to find a way to keep her out of the toilet! So back story: DD1 just toilet trained, and I started her out on the kiddy pot in the living room and then moved it into the BR. She was doing fine until last night. Last night she drank the water out of the toilet. Ew gross but not going to kill her right? So after the kids went down for the night I deep cleaned the BR. I had thought I was smarter than a 24month old, and I placed the gel stamp on the front of the bowl where she wouldn't see it. Wrong! Well it turns out that the gel is non toxic and completely harmless, just gross. Anyone else could go out and buy a toilet lock but my cat is toilet trained and we only have one BR! Would you guys just going back to locking DD out of the BR? Any other ideas to keep DD from eating drinking at the toilet but still allow the cat access? Seriously grossed out and my child smells like toilet gel, thanks.

  • I am so sorry but I can't help but laugh at this. And I am totally impressed that you taught your cat to use the toilet. The only thing I can think of is putting a gate up that your cat can jump but your DD can't get over.

  • Thanks guys. I do actually gave the gate shown above. I took it down 2 weeks ago. I was hoping to leave it down. I was hoping DD1 was now mature enough to take her self to the toilet. So I guess we are back to using the princess potty in the living room. Still hoping someone will have some magical brilliant idea to help me out.
