Mama's with Daycare work experience...Need advice! (other input welcome)

Hey ladies-We are moving to another town on Friday and subsequently switching daycares. We will be in the same system ( Malvern school) but at a different location. We absolutely LOVE our current daycare. They are so good with Jase and I can tell they really love him. I never worry about him at daycare and it is the biggest relief to have such amazing women taking care of him. I am so sad to be leaving them. I know it will be a tear-fest for me on Friday.

So, DH and I want to do something nice for them. For Valentine's day we brought in Panera...Any suggestions? I mean how do you really thank someone for  taking such good care of your child everyday?Gift cards, more food, present of some sort?? Any ideas from former daycare teachers?? Thanks!

  • This may be expensive but I was just talking with my DCP this morning and she was telling me she got a great deep tissue massage the other day at this one spa I town and how it really helped with the specific aches and pains from lifting children.

I made a mental nite that it would be a great holiday gift for her.

But I only have to buy for one person. But I agrees, something to spoil themselves and make them feel good.
  • Maybe a pedi or mani gift cert? Something to spoil themselves a bit?
    Spa gift certs for sure!!

  • A Starbucks giftcard would probably go over well.

  • Hailey's DCP was in an accident over the weekend, so she will be getting a spa certificate this week. We switch providers over on Friday, she is retiring. I'm sad to leave her, but I've known this day was coming for months.

...and the freak circle is complete.
  • I've received spa gift certainly before and appreciated it. Also, I love Starbucks and my iphone so I've received gifts for those, $50 or so, and I thought it was incredible. If you can afford it, a week's pay has been a typical gift from my employers and what I gave to our DC when we ended.

  • We are in the Malvern school so he has a total of 6 caregivers on a regular basis...So I am trying to think of something that would be appropriate to give 6 people. I was thinking a gift card to either a nail chain in the area ( there are about 7 locations) or possibly starbucks or wawa. Decisions!
