Stretching/Gravity Pulling Feeling

I have been trying to get things organized for the twins' arrival this week...yesterday we went to Lowe's and walked around for an hour, and then came home and cleaned a bit and picked up my daughter's 3000 toys. Well, in the evening I started feeling a weird stretching and pulling sensation all over my belly...nothing that I'd ever felt with my daughter. I'm assuming I overdid it and have spent all day today on the couch with my feet up, but anytime I have gotten up to do anything minor the sensation comes back. I'm going to call my OB tomorrow but wondering if this happened to anyone else this early ( 21 weeks) and what the outcome was?

Re: Stretching/Gravity Pulling Feeling

  • I'm curious to see other responses... I get this too when I'm on my feet too much/too much walking/etc. Like today :(

  • I wonder if it could be Braxton Hicks. I get more when I'm more active. Does your uterus feel tight/hard to the touch? I'm interested in what your doctor says.

  • I had some Braxton Hicks with my DD and it didn't feel like that. I felt a lot better today but am finding I can't spend more than 15-20 min on my feet before I start getting that feeling again. Just going to listen to my body from now on and sit when I need to. I didn't call my OB yet.

  • I was coming on to complain about this exact thing, hahahaha! I'm 21 weeks with twins, and have a 19 month old. By the end of the day, my stomach feels like its going to pop & I have lower back pain - this has been the last 2 weeks. Its not Braxton hicks because I lay down, hydrate & feel my abdomen & it doesn't get firm or anything. I just think its because I've had a baby before & I'm measuring 6 weeks ahead already.

  • I have a lot of sore abdominal muscles if I walk for more than 30 minutes. Feels like a cramp you get if you exercise too much.  My OB said its just the muscles pulling and stretching under the strain. I feel like its too early for this to be happening. But I have to keep reminding myself that baby B is already up by my belly button and those muscles are getting a work out.

  • I've felt that on and off for quite a while. A maternity belt helped for a couple months before my belly outgrew it and the babies wedged themselves in thusly that a bigger size still just didn't feel good. Now at 33 weeks, that feeling is becoming an almost constant companion. My DH jokes that the muscles in that area of my body have given up for now.
  • I sometimes can't move. Pain on back n sides is too much. I do everything online. Trying to rest. Seems better then
  • How far along are you @Angelahelena‌ ?
