Poop not seedy

Hi all,

I fell so far behind on all the posts and have been catching up.  A lot of the previous discussion is easing my mind about some of my breastfeeding concerns (although I now have more research to do about OALD and foremilk/hindmilk imbalance), so as always, I appreciate having you all as a resource.    One thing that jumped out at me is the reference to mustard seed.  I remember 1 or 2 diapers after my milk first came in that looked seedy.  Now, they are still bright yellow, but not seedy?  Is this an indication of a problem or something I need to mention to my pedi?  My little guy is 11 days old.

I donno if this helpful in any way but I am ff and pumping. After about the first week his poop stopped being seedy and is now just yellow. My pedi didn't seemed to be bothered by this and said as long as he is pooping and peeling regularly that he is eating just fine.

I think (and I could be wrong) the colour is most important. The seedy-ness is here nor there.

What consistency is it? Is it still the same consistency? Mucousy?

Another vote for color/consistency being more important than seedy/not seedy.

It's when it's greenish in color that indicates a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance.

My LO poops are not seedy either. I mentioned it to the LC and she said not all babies have seedy poop. I wouldn't worry about it.

Agreeing with pp, my pediatrician told us not all babies have seedy poops. Some just have yellow poops and it's perfectly normal. (He said none of his children had seedy) I agree with the stop reading to find things to worry about. I'm a major worrier and drive DH crazy with always watching for things. As my sister (also a worrier and mother of 2) has tried to tell me, everything will be okay. They grow up before you know it and if you're always looking for something you will miss the time they are so precious and little.

@pistolpackingmomma, the best description is one I read... mustard mixed with cottage cheese curds.  More liquid than curds though.

DD had a few seedy poops but not aren't. And they're usually a lot more bright orange than yellow. I told pedi at her 1m check up and he wasn't concerned.

That is the exact description you are aiming for. The curds are the 'seedy'.

Yeah it's really fun when you forget that you fed your kid carrots and see a reddish orange streak through their poop and freak out thinking it's blood.
