What?! Birth in the wild

Have you heard about this new tv show where women give birth unassisted in the wild? Some crazy shit if you ask me.   https://insidetv.ew.com/2014/06/04/birth-in-the-wild-reality-debate/

I respect the choice to birth at home with a trained midwife, but I think promoting this kind of dangerous, unassisted birth is irresponsible.  For the show of course they'll have a doctor looking on in case of an emergency, but how many crazies are going to be inspired to try this on their own?  

ETA: Would you watch the show when it airs? I couldn't both on principle and because it would just make me too nervous. Even the historical drama Call the Midwife was too much for me when I was pregnant with DD, I had to wait to binge once I was on maternity leave!

I think it is nuts! We talked a little about it in another thread, but the title is misleading, something like who is doing this? Just looking back on my experience with dd, I would be terrified by myself.

ah, I did a quick scan before posting, but clearly haven't been keeping up with the board closely enough these days!
