Spit up question...

How much spitting up is normal? E had MSPI, reflux, and was just a spitter, so I know the amount she spit up wasn't normal. P doesn't spit up as much as E did, but she's starting to spit up more and more.
If she isn't having any MSPI signs, and is putting on good weight, do I just ignore the spitting up?
Sorry, I feel so dumb asking NB questions, but it seems like so long ago with E, and P is soooo different.

Grayson spit up A TON!! Like I wore a towel for the first 4 months. Our pedi always said as long as he is gaining weight and not fussy before he spits, that he is fine. It was annoying but otherwise normal. Hopefully it's the same for P.

My LO has always gained weight and she has Severe reflux and food allergies and lactose intolerance. It depends on the volume and number of times a day.

One of my boys was a crazy spitter until 10 months- multiple times after EVERY meal. He was having reflux symptoms (arching back, those episodes that look like seizures), so we started Zantac around 2 mos and continued for a year. No MSPI diapers or other symptoms, weight gain was within ounces of his non-spitting brother, and Zantac seemed to help pain. He was just a massive spitter and Zantac never helped the amount of spit up. It was so, so awful when we were going through it, but the pedi said we still fell within the range of "normal." So sorry you are going through it!!

Thanks for asking @Ducky719‌. We are doing pretty well! I feel good, just low endurance. P is great, a good eater, good sleeper, and darn cute! E had a rough time in the beginning, she was acting out a lot. But she adores P and wants to hug and kiss her all the time, and is getting a lot better.

Another one with a spitter - and just like P, she gained weight and slept well. I just went with it, she slowed down around 3.5 months but didn't totally stop until about 10! Glad to hear things are going well overall

I feel like I was never without spit up on me, or at least one burp cloth on me at all times from about 1 month to 6 months. No weight/reflux/allergy issues.

Sometimes it was just little dribbles and other times it seemed like OUNCES!!!

A was a happy spitter, large quantities, but not projectile. I didn't worry about it, just made sure I carried a towel with me.

I had colic/reflux, cried after feedings, spit up like a faucet turned on from her mouth and nose and cried for hours every night. We did Zantac and the chiropractor for her which helped.

J was a happy spitter. It went on for about 6-7mo. Then one day it stopped. It took me a few days to notice, but all of a sudden I wasn't having to change her outfit as much!

Im so glad you asked this because J spits up a lot too. She is a "happy spitter" but the amount still bothers me at times.
