Drinking in public?

So say you were at a public event like a baseball game with your LO. What is your opinion on having a beer or two?

If your opinion is no drinking, is that forever or just till LO is older?

I say go for it. Sing, you should have seen the looks I got in Vegas with A sitting on my lap drinking a bottle while I had a beer. IDGAF, but yes, strangers will judge the hell out of you.

Oh, and completely hammered at a baseball stadium? No thanks. I have enough trouble navigating those narrow stairs when I'm sober as a judge.

I didn't drink at the game tonight, mostly because Tim had a couple, and I was driving home. But, @Sing2phins‌ and @cagoldi‌ that is part of my problem too. I don't think it is bad/wrong but I just don't want to deal with the side-eye. I was just curious as to what y'all thought/were doing as we are out and about with our babes.

I would be nervous about drinking at a ball park and having to carry a baby up or down stairs, and if someone needs to drive, then one parent should probably not drink. There are a few places that are walking distance that we go to where we both get a drink. I usually bottle feed out in public, or we time the walk with H's feeds so he won't need to eat when we're out. If people are side eyeing, I haven't noticed, but maybe everyone understands how parents of twins really need to get out for a drink.

We went to a game last night. DH had one beer with dinner when we got there. I had two over the course of the game (we were there early for dinner with DH's company). No one really seemed to care that I was having a beer while holding Emmy (or I didn't catch their side eye). Personally, I think it is fine to have a drink or two at a baseball game, however I wouldn't get completely shit faced with baby in tow!

I've been to a baseball game with LO and had every intention of getting a beer, but logistically it was too hard. I had DD on my lap most of the time and she's into grabbing everything. She ended up knocking over my water, and it would have been tragic for her to knock over a $9 beer.

This exactly. I second guess myself after that incident and it has ruined my one damn glass of wine with dinner when we go out. I wish I had a disclaimer to distribute to those around me, yes I am breast feeding, yes this is my only glass of wine this week, this is also likely to be the only meal I havent cooked whole entertaining a 6month old, so please f*** off with your unappreciated and unrequested opinion on the topic .

Sorry this makes me stabby. I agree on the driving thing mentioned by some, where we live there are a lot of restaurants that are walkable.

We took LO to a brewery with us last weekend. Maybe it's just Wisconsin culture, but everyone there ooo'ed and ahhh'ed at our cute little guy and no one batted an eye when DH and I both had a beer.

My husband can't drink because of medicine he takes, so I frequently have a glass or two of wine when we go out, usually on weekends. He also likes to take care of baby while we're out, he does almost all the diaper changes whenever we're out together. Works out in my favor when wine sounds good!

Yesterday was my 30th birthday and we're going to Bob Chinn's for dinner tonight. It's a Chicagoland landmark and they're famous for their mai tais. If anyone side eyes me for a mai tai while H is with us, there will be words.

I always have a beer when I'm out in public - and I always have LO with me. I really have not had one person judge me for it.

Maybe I just live in a heavy drinking area.

Although, now that I think about it when I was in CO I brought LO to our fav brewery and ordered a beer in honor of his daddy. I did get a side eye there, but that's probably because I was alone, with my LO, drinking at a bar haha. For the record, I wasn't driving.

I don't see what's wrong with having one beer while at dinner. We actually had dinner at a brewery on Friday night and I had a fantastic Weiss beer with my meal.

But I live in Wisconsin. No one is getting arrested for drinking and nursing here.

Sunday lunch at the pub with the kids is a "thing" here. When we don't drive, I'll have a glass or two of wine and DH will have something. If we drive, DH abstains and I still get my glass of wine!

My DH is more of a drinker than I am.
I was nervous about drinking with a LO for a while but now I'm more comfortable and I'll have a drink or two - typically wine maybe beer but nothing hard.
