My LO is 15 months and isnt gaining much weight. She has some good days where she eats ok other days she wants nothing to do with food. She likes to drink liquids but that isnt going to help her gain weight. So in those days that she wants nothing to do with food I want to make her a smoothie with ingredients that will benefit her. Right now I've been giving her a green juice, its called Naked. But I would like to give her something with greek yogurt. What are your go-to smoothie recipes? And since summer is approaching , do you have any frozen popsicle recipes? Thank you in advance.
P.S. I have no idea why but this is the only website where the keyboard on my tablet wont pop up when I want to reply to a discussion
Mine is very simple - 1/2C WCM, 1/2C full fat plain yogurt (you can use greek instead), 1/2C fresh or frozen fruits (-< they change according to season and whatever I have in the house). I don't add ice. You can also add a T of peanut butter or almond butter to boost the calories.

I was intimidated by smoothies at first, but now I've got the hang of it and it's much easier - you'll figure it out!
My typical "recipe" is this: two frozen fruits, about 1/2 a cup of yogurt, 1 - 2 cups of liquid (coconut water or almond milk), a cup of spinach (I usually freeze my spinach too) and about a tablespoon of chia seeds.
If I have them, I'll also add half an avocado or a banana.
We do frozen fruit, whole milk yogurt, OJ or WCM for liquid, and sometimes avocado, chia seed, or flax seed. I've tried spinach, but my blender isn't quite up to the task
I also just bought Popsicle molds, so I'm going to make a little extra smoothie, and freeze it as a treat.
Planning to do these a lot more now that it's hot out - thanks for all the recipes, ladies!
I usually do 1/2 cup full fat plain greek yogurt, 1/2 cup WCM (sometimes I have to add a little more for consistency), 1/2 a banana, 1 cup kale or spinach, 1/2 a chopped apple. You could add chia seed for more protein too. Sometimes I add blueberries or strawberries depending on what I have in the fridge, if it's too much for one cup I add extra milk to the extra and stick it in the fridge for later.
I haven't made them but I want to try popsicles I've seen made with full fat plain greek yogurt, honey, and mashed up berries. I'll probably puree the berries first.
Dang it I just came from the store and forgot the avocados. Next time! Thank you so much for sharing! I will make my concoction tomorrow hopefully it tastes good! Lol
I think I must have the only kid who doesn't like smoothies. She's been on a food strike again so I made her smoothies yesterday and then again today using some of the ingredients you guys mentioned hoping to get some liquid and calories in her... both DH and I drank them and thought they were delicious but DD refused them...
So today I did the first trial run for smoothies.
1/2 cup WCM
1/2 greek yogurt
Handfull mixture of spinach and kale
Heaping spoon full of peanut butter
Pinch of chia seeds
Blueberries, half a banana, and strawberries
I let her drop in a few blueberries and lick the peanut butter spoon, which made her giggle. Once blended I dipped the spoon and let her have a taste, she wanted more. I filled a sippy cup and she almost finished it all. This will become an every other day thing in the hopes that she gains a little weight but will not replace real food lol

This is a great idea, making the smoothie WITH her! How come I didn't think of this. I've made smoothies several times and she didn't care for them but maybe if I have her "help" me make it she'd want to drink it.. I'll be trying this tomorrow! THANKS
