Responsible gun owners have to be pissed at all this shit lately.
It's not exactly helping the conversation between reasonable people.
I am. These people are not responsible.
I would also walk out of a store or restaurant if I came across these people, especially with DS in tow. Because we own firearms, we work very hard on teaching responsibility, safety and that they are not toys.
We drive it home so much that we actually had to change our vernacular at home. If we say "gun", DS goes all Eddie Eagle on our ass. We have changed our vocabulary to firearm so not to provoke his wrath.
Dude walks into store needing a new Capt America shield for this weekend's Avengers LARPing. "Oh, man. I can't strap this on with my gun. Here. Let me just sit that right here..."
Thank God an employee found it. I'm not sure how hard it is to look at surveillance footage to see exactly who put it or accidentally left it there.
My first thought was a person pissed off person about the law who left it there to prove a point. I really hope not. My second thought was a complete idiot bend over to look at a toy and was unable to bend with a gun in his belt. Took it off and accidentally forgot it... Like a complete and total fucking idiot.
Yeah....I highly doubt anyone misplaced their gun (though I don't doubt that there are people out there stupid enough to do that). Someone put it there on purpose.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I really doubt it was left unintentionally too, which just makes me really sad. I hope they are able to trace it back to the owner with the serial #.
I'm wondering how they don't know what happened already. Target has camera's. How the whole story including pictures of who put it there, is not concluded is weird to me. This happened a week ago?
