Workaholic that needs to let go!

I am only 7 weeks but I'm nervous about how things are going to go.  I waited a long time to have a baby, always hoping I'd have a little nest egg or at least an established career first.  Well, thanks to the lovely economy, I am now working 8 part time jobs to make ends meet and at 36 I didn't want to hold off on a family any longer.  I have health insurance thru DH (he works full time) but sadly my state has no short term disability which means I have to pray everything goes smoothly and I can only be home about 6-8 weeks of not getting paid.  I also don't have any family/friends nearby so I'll be adding infant daycare to the list of expenses.
Ok, so I guess what I'm wondering is how everyone else manages.  Did you find it better to just work part time to save on daycare or work full time to avoid daycare (it's a fine line)?  Any tips for how to juggle?  Anyone else not have any maternity leave/disability available?
