reflux question

so the dr thinks all the coughing and mucous has caused reflux hence her puking
he prescribed zantac....and unfortunately he said the dissolvable kind isn't available anymore :(
for those of you with refluxy los and who hate liquid meds.....any suggestions? is she still too young to swallow the regular zantac you think? he prescribed 75mg
could i crush it up in applesauce you think? or could i put the liquid in applesauce?
like we have to wrestle to get her to take anything
i put the Benadryl in her night bottle the other night (yes she still gets a bottle at night what of it

  • I had a kid with swallowing issues who didn't take a bottle so we constantly were dealing with liquid med issues.  I would crush the pill in something you know she will eat or try and hide it in her nightitme bottle.  FYI liquid zantac tends to be rather strong flavored, minty I think so it is hard to hide in things.  If I remember correctly some parents said their pharmacy agreed to mix it in something more palatable so their kids would take it.  We did the syringe method but a lot got spit out.  That (along with severity) is why we use prevacid now - dissolvable tablet is so much easier to take. :)
