Our first was diagnosed with IUGR. The doctor suggested looking into baby aspirin for prevention with our 2nd. Research has been positive but looking for insight from experience. Thank you.
I had iugr (and other defects) with a prior failed pregnancy. I'm on baby aspirin now and I'm in week 30 and things look great. The non high risk doc in the practice said not to bother taking it but the high risk doc said to take it so I am. I think the general thinking is, can't hurt. No side effects I'm aware of feeling.
hmmm...did the doctor tell you how they thought the baby aspirin would help specifically with the baby's growth in the womb? I have trouble with blood clotting so I was recommended to do baby aspirin for the first trimester, but wasn't aware that taking baby aspirin would help the baby in any way.

I think the basic idea is increased blood flow/ nutrients to the baby.
I'm taking it due to two 2nd trimester losses. My first one had severe IUGR and I lost her at 26 weeks & I unexpectedly lost my son in October at 18 weeks. No one has been able to diagnose me with any thing. My bloodwork stumps the Dr.'s. Everything is pointing to blood clotting disorder, antiphospholipid syndrome, but my tests come back indeterminate. So all the specialists recommend taking a baby aspirin daily, as opposed to blood thinning injections such as Heparin or Lovenox. I'm currently 16 weeks & 2 days and have a limited anatomy scan scheduled for this afternoon at my high risk Dr. Hoping & praying that the aspirin is the answer and baby is growing ok....
