Another BCP question

Hi! I have been lurking for a while, finally posting . Yes, I did some research before posting this! My husband is 26, Im 24 (25 in the fall) and we're talking about TTC July/august. I was off BCP April and May, took PNV and did a partial pack of BCP in May because of a potential job change which we decided against. I was told that I should have 2 periods after stopping BCP before TTC. Has anyone else heard this from their doctor? I'm not sure how much the partial pack will affect things, should we wait another 2 months again? Im ready to start trying!

You can start trying as soon as you want. Once you stop taking the pills they're out of your system in 24 hours. (Hence why you have to take them every day). The only lasting effect is your body adjusting to the lack of extra hormones.

I think the main reason people will tell you to wait a cycle is to make sure your body has had time to make a nice thick lining in your ute so an egg had a nice place to land. If your lining is still sparse, you have a higher risk of a M/C.

Who told you to wait 2 periods after BCP?  I've never heard anything like that.  

The only thing to keep in mind is that you were regular because you were on the pill, so when you're off there's no telling what "regular" will be for you, so don't expect AF to show up on day 28.  I'd recommend learning about your natural cycle.  There's great information on the TTGP blog.  Temping/charting can be great to help you keep your cool because you'll be able to confirm when/if you ovulated and then give you an idea of when to expect AF and therefore when to POAS if necessary.
