How do we not have a UO thread yet?

Re: How do we not have a UO thread yet?

  • I am a family law attorney in CA and do child support modifications all of the time. I didn't catch what state you are in but here in CA, losing your job is a change of circumstance justifying a modification. I have never heard of a 3 yr waiting period. Call an attorney on your area and figure out your options.

So many i want to comment on today!

    1. I hate maxi skirt/dresses because SHORT!  I don't care what others wear.
    2. Agree sometimes about the randoms thread, a lot of that that stuff I wish were its own post. but I totally see the need for it because a lot of that stuff doesn't need its own post.  *sigh*
    3. I love both my skinny jeans & my bootcuts.
    4. Child support issues: 1 women exploiting her ex's generosity is NOT the same as the system being flawed.  I know way too many women who have to work way to hard to get anything.

ETA: while we're talking fashion.  I hate shoes that are a combo between ankle boots and sandals.  Ick! This looks good on no one!

  • @Meghan14‌ I pretty much hate all combo shoes. It's getting ridiculous...they're all starting to look like this to me:

Ok, I've got one.  I hate classic cars.

I mean sure they may look cool, but they pollute more and are less safe than a modern car.  Some of them still don't have seatbelts from crying out loud, and that is still legal.

I know someone with a classic car.  It has seatbelts in the front, but not the back seat.  It is legal to drive the car this way.  Guess where the two year old's car seat goes? (Not sure if this is legal or not.)

Seeing this tonight was just kinda the tipping point, but I seriously don't see the appeal of having an old gas guzzling, dinosaur of a car, that cost more money to buy than a new car, but is much more likely to kill you in crash.

    And also, no air conditioning.
I'm pretty sure that the two year old's seat not being restrained is illegal. But I want a classic car. Dh and I have plans to buy an old corvette. Not really to drive, though. More to have sex in.
The car seat is actually in the front. So restrained, but in the front seat. Not cool. I'm all for classic cars as recreational at pieces. I just made that term up. Or drive in had several classics on blocks as decoration, butt you can sit on them. making out could happen anyway
At least the car is too old for airbags which is part of the problem with one being in the front.  If a car seat is in a truck, it has to be in the front, but they'd have to turn off the airbags (right?  I don't own a truck....).

  • MH has a 'show car'. It isn't classic yet, it's a '94 Trans Am. It's pretty spiffy, but he only takes it to car shows. And I'm pretty sure that if he enters any car shows for the forseeable future, I will drive myself and LO separately. Because 4 doors.

I want to apologize to everyone. Apparently my UO was a little too unpopular and I did not intend to turn UO's into an in-depth discussion of my situation. There is no more I want to discuss, but I do want to assure you that we have have dealt with this issue without success. Yes, child support is recalculated every 3 years or a change in circumstances. Those changes in circumstances are: unemployed for greater than 6 months, incarcerated, or permanently disabled. None of these apply to my situation as my husband accepted a new position with lower pay. He is not unemployed thus the 3 year mark is when child support can be re-evaluated. Also, I would like to say, never once did I call her a horrible person. In my home, we respect all people. She is difficult to deal with in this situation, but terrible person is a bit too far.
