Thirsties Cover size XS?

Ok, quick question for you ladies. I currently have 4 covers for my NB phase.  Was thinking I need 2 more?  Is that right and if so, how do you feel about size xs Thirsties cover? i see it goes up to 12 lbs. I am just worried about how it long it will comfortably fit over prefolds. TIA.

  • With my first the XS fit right away. He was 7lb 7oz. But they were really wide, so they felt bulky compared to our prowraps. The rise got too short around 7 weeks, but he fit in flips by then.

  • I'm so confused by what "rise" means...lol Does this mean where the diaper hits the belly or something like that?

  • Ok, thanks guys. My DD was 8lbs 9 oz, so if I have a larger one this time, I was just worried they might only last a few weeks.

  • The duo fit my LO better than the sized and allows for better versatility when using prefolds, fitteds, or whatever you want to put under it since it's adjustable.
He was born 6 lbs 10 oz so I had to wait a couple weeks for the XS and Duo.  I used Bummis at first.

  • C wore xs right away, and he was almost 8 lbs. I can't remember when we stopped using them, but I know he has one on in his 1 month photo.

  • We had one XS.  I think it would've fit from birth (6 lbs 13oz) but I didn't actually start using it until 4 weeks when it fit perfectly over a NB fitted.  Then I put it away at 8 weeks, not because it didn't fit but because I liked some of my other diapers better than the fitted.  But I think it would've lasted another month??
