Cloth Diapering

Help me figure this out!

So I have 12 orange edge prefolds I may have sold but I have no clue how to price them with shipping. The prefolds themselves I was going to do $1 each but I don't know how much to add into that price for shipping. Have any ladies shipped these before? Also I have two xs thirsties cover that may also be sold dependent on price. They are washed never worn and retail for I believe $12. I would be sending those with the prefolds so I don't need to add in shipping. How much would you price those at? TIA!!

  • 1 each is pretty low. I just sold a dozen for 25 ppd and they went really fast. I sold them on the gmd bst Facebook group. I shipped them parcel post and I think it cost 6 dollars and change? How you ship them makes a big difference so be sure to check out all the options when you print the shipping label.

Other than gmd I generally price used stuff at around half price. Since they're so new I would probably go up to like 75% of retail, but I wouldn't go above that. I have the crazy idea that used stuff shouldn't be priced like new, though. You could probably find someone who would pay more than $9 but they will take longer to sell.

  • The prefolds will probably be a decent bit in shipping, depending on where they are going. I just shipped a dozen infant sized prefolds half way across the country, and it was like $25 just for shipping. Eek! (But I was dumb and went to a parcel plus place and I think I paid more than I would have at the post office)

I think a medium flat rate box from usps is like $12. You might be able to fit them in there. If they'll fit, maybe price them at $1.25, so $15 for the dozen. Then you'll at least make a few bucks off them.

  • Flat rate box is hardly ever cheapest, ime. I just shipped a four pound medium flat rate box and realized after I could've shipped it cheaper as non presorted parcel post. It's cheaper if you're shipping stuff using the more expensive methods, though.
