funny thing your kid does

Does your lo do anything funny that you haven't noticed other kids do? I thought this would be fun to see what other kids do.

When DD is concentrating on something really hard she makes this continuous "ahhhh/ehhhh" noise. Usually it is when she playing with a string on a book, coloring, or using any fine motor skills. DH and I always joke that when she gets to school and is taking a test that she going to drive the other kids nuts with that noise and they are going to be shushing her.

  • I don't know if other kids do this, but DD randomly claps along with songs in the radio when I'm driving....it never a song I'm singing too or anything, I just start hearing her clap and look back in my rear-view and see her in her mirror just clapping...she's fairly good at staying on beat at least for a little while (I like to think she's adopting my love of music) and when she realizes I am looking at her, she always grins like she's so proud of herself

  • She's always making some sort sound with her mouth.  I wish I had a video.  She esp likes making popping noises.

  • Am sure others have had this happen, buthappend today for the first time. Let LO drink milk from a cup, which she wanted to hold. Was fine up until she insisted on holding it above her head at an angle. I tried to take it away so she wouldn't spill it all over herself. After she was very insistent, decided would be better for her to learn the natural consequence rather than argue. I let go of the cup, she continued to jerk the cup around. Needless to say, she ended up with half her face & clothing half covered in milk along with the floor. Even her eye lid was covered. She stared at me not understanding what had just happened. I tried so hard not to laugh, but her look of "what the he*! just happened" was too funny & cute (especially with the white sheet of milk dripping from her face). Once I started to laugh, she went into the next room and just stood there, looking at me again, still unsure of what had happened. Had her wipe up the mess once I could breath again.
