Snoogle?

Anybody using it, has used it or is thinking about it? Is it worth spending $50 on? My hips are starting to hurt at night (old lady alert) but a regular pillow is too thick to shove in there so I'm thinking a body pillow would be the same problem. Guess I could always open up a pillow and take some fluff out?

Re: Snoogle?

  • Not worth the money, IMO. I got an expensive pregnancy pillow when I was pregnant with DS, regular pillows worked better.

You can get a cheap flat pillow at Walmart or Target for under $15.
Check the feather pillows, those get pretty flat when the feathers compress and move to the sides.

  • I love the snoogle!  I haven't started using it yet with this pregnancy, but it was a life saver during my first pregnancy.  My hips would hurt at night too and it really helped with that.  Also, sometimes, I would sleep on my side with the snuggle behind me to make sure I didn't end up sleeping on my back.

As far as the price, I was given one second hand, so I didn't have to pay for it, but I probably would have bought one if I hadn't been given one.
  • I on the other hand love mine, I can't sleep without it now, I even took it on an 8hour car ride just so I could sleep with it for two nights when we visited family two weeks ago.
  • I didn't have one last time and I always wished I did. I had a body pillow and it so didnt work. I'm getting one this time for sure!
  • I bought one new a few weeks ago and it's very comfy. Since then I've seen them at multiple garage sales and kicked myself a little for buying it so quickly.
Downside is that it takes up so much space and can put a literal roadblock between cuddling and sexy time.
  • I love mine!  It does take up a lot of room on the bed, but it's very comfortable and I like that you can use it in a variety of formations depending on how you feel (ie- behind you, in front of you, as a reading pillow etc.)

  • MH got one after I complained about sleeping. I think it was less than 50 on amazon. I don't love it. Mostly because I get really hot and its an extra thing touching my skin…it just makes me too hot at night. I think I'll try it another  few times before deciding if I should return it.

The really great investment (that was way more pricey) was a memory foam mattress topper. This has made such a difference. And both DH and I can enjoy it.

  • I got the boppie version of the snoogle because it was on sale at Target.  I like it so far, but I'm afraid that the stuffing will flatten out-it's fairly loosely packed.  So far so good except that I've been using it in separate pieces with the top on behind my back to keep from rolling over, and it keeps ending up on the floor.  Every morning I wake up on my back, it definitely helps with comfort when I'm falling asleep though-I'd never be able to get to sleep as well on my side without it.

  • I have never tried a snoogle but am happy with a target body pillow so I haven't felt the need to try something else.
  • I got one from a recommendation from a friend who said it was a lifesaver.  It's comfortable but not AMAZING...yet.  I have found that now that laying on my back is becoming increasingly more uncomfortable, I use more of it, more and more.

I am obsessed with my pillow so I can't imagine replacing it.  So I can just not use the head pillow part of this.  I'm sure DH will snag it.  He really wants a snoogle for himself, haha!

I got a preggle pillow because I didn't want the full body kind, just used it for the first time last night.  It's OK, I got it mostly to keep me from rolling onto my back because I kept waking up on my back.  I think that it worked for that, it's comfortable enough, but the part that goes between the knees is pretty thick.  I tend to toss and turn a lot during the night and it's not as comfortable for that.  Hopefully I'll adjust!

I'm obsessed with my pillow too. I literally take it everywhere we go. Even on or trip to Hawaii. It was so worth it to carry around for the 20+
hour trip. I NEED it. Haha. Unfortunately this has caused a "cock block" situation of sorts with my snoogle. I bought it from Buy Buy Baby. They price match everything there! Even Amazon prices. (Remember that, ladies!!). I slept with my snoogle on the first night I bought it and loved it. However, I can't use my pillow if I use it. So, I haven't used it since. I think when I get larger, I will give my pillow up for the comfort of the snoogle. ;)

I really like my snoogle.  The only problem is getting the darn cover off to wash it - it is a bi+@h to put back on, and when I put it back on the shape is weird (I have to fix it).  I think it's worth the $50.

  • Thanks for the replies ladies! And thanks for the alternative suggestions like the Boppy and the Preggle @kaimee27 @missnacholover and @rox825. I found the mini version of the snoogle on Amazon last night and I am thinking about getting that to avoid the whole cock block bed hog situation.

I stuff the head pillow part behind my back to try to stop rolling over.  :)

  • I can't be without my Snoogle now :) I just took it on vacation with me and I am so happy that I did. At home DH and I have a king bed so it really doesn't get in the way.

  • I love my Snoogle, although it does make me hot at night and the cover is a pain to put back on after washing.  I got mine at Buy Buy Baby, you can use a 20% off coupon for it if you feel like it's too much to spend on a pillow.
  • I also just bought a Snoogle off amazon (just under $50).  I've slept wayyyy better since having it, but that definitely doesn't mean that the alternatives aren't probably just as good!

I just bought one last week and I'm still getting used to it. So far I haven't seen an improvement. I also switch sides a lot in my sleep and trying to move the pillow with me is a struggle (we have a queen bed).

  • Man. I am a snoogle whore. Cock block? Maybe, but DH just climbs over the bridge-no biggie. He did ask if we could just cut a hole in it, lol. If it's in the way you could just put it on the other side.
  • @BlackBooks‌
I got the Bump Nest this time around and am kicking myself for not getting it with DD. The pillowcase and pillow are washable. It is so comfy I may use it forever. They are also really good about giving you a coupon code if you call them. Definitely worth every penny!

  • I got this guy.  I almost got the Boppy pillow with the detachable parts since I LOVE my pillow and knew I wouldn't use the head part.  Then I realized that this thing was really just the same pillow but for cheaper.  From what I understand, the only thing the ridiculously named "Cuddle Pillow" lacks that the Total Body Pillow has is the part that you lay on top of.

That said, I do kind of wish that it went under my belly better, but that might just be user error.  I think it has helped my hip pain.  I usually wake up kind of on top of it on my side/stomach but not flat on my belly.  I, like a poster on a previous thread, sleep like Captain Morgan.

  • I have a snoogle. I LOVE it. It really makes it easy to get comfy at night.
  • Oh, also I got my Snoogle for $35 at Buy Buy Baby because it had been opened and returned, never used though. Might be something to watch out for.

  • On a "normal" day, I sleep with a body pillow and 4 other pillows! I literally burrow myself under pillows. I have been waiting very patiently to get pregnant so I have an excuse for buying one!!! I added it to my registry and my mother was dying laughing when she called to ask what the hell I added!! Heaven mom, I just registered for Heaven!
  • I have a Snoogle. I end up either on top of it, under it, or tangled up with it. I toss and turn A LOT in my sleep so I think it is a really bad product for me personally.

  • I bought a snoogle at bed bath and beyond with a 20% off coupon. It took a while to get used to (I tend to sleep on all sides, multiple times a night) but now that I have it's amazing!!! My hip and back pain are way improved.

It just takes a while to figure out how best to change sides. I've ended up leaving the full side on the outside of the bed if that makes sense, so it doesn't cock block ;) (That was DH's main concern when I got it) Then I just kind of rotate within it so at some points I have the full support along my back, other times the curve just holds my head and shoulders when I'm facing in.

Funny side note: Last weekend I got up before DH. When I passed by the bedroom half an hour later, he was totally curled up with it, sound asleep!
  • I bought one, tried it, and it gave me a stiffed neck?! :( maybe someone can enlighten me on how to use it properly
  • I got a hand-me-down snoogle from my BFF and tried it for the first time last night and LOVE it! I slept like a rock.

  • OMG! I LOVE it!!  I bought it mostly to keep myself from rolling onto my stomach at night, but oh my gosh!  I have not slept so good in the past few weeks!  I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I think it's totally worth it :)
  • I have one and I love it. I think how you feel about it definitely depends on how you tend to sleep (active, like a rock, hot, cold, side, etc). I am a pretty curvy gal and it helps support my boobs, back, belly, legs, and neck. It's like a big hug/snuggle but without having to deal with another person shifting or breathing on you.

My first pregnancy my husband stole it from me the moment I got out of bed. I think he liked it more than me. But the covers fit tight, and it is tricky to get back on. Also if you twnd to roll around in your sleep, it takes a while to figure out how to roll and keep it with you.
