C-Section Mamas- a question for you

I just posted this on the C-section board, but figured I would ask my favorite ladies as well:

My C-section is planned for Thursday at 10am.  I know that I cannot eat or drink after midnight and that it may be a while before I eat real food after.  With that knowledge, what should I eat Wednesday?  I have heard to keep things light so to make things easier on my system, but also to eat something substantial since it will be a while before I eat a real meal.  Any recommendations?
Thanks!

  • I'm wondering the same thing, but with mine being tomorrow it's a little late at this point xD I hope you get good answers and good luck on Thursday!!!

I had my c section last Friday at 9:30am. I don't know if there are any foods to eat or avoid specifically, but I would recommend filling up the night before so you are not light headed and out of it when going to the hospital. I specifically got up at midnight and had a small meal, because know how my blood sugars can get when I don't eat. I had to check on 2 hours before, so with the nerves, I did forget I was hungry!

  • Mine is a little different as we didn't know it would happen. Durning my 2 days of being induced my doctor let me eat something each morning. She told me to eat light. I asked what she meant by light and she said "something you don't mind puking up later".

  • I ate watermelon and I was starving! I would eat whatever you want, but would avoid spicy or gassy foods since you don't wanna deal with that.

    so excited for you guys!
