Formula question

LO is weaning and needs supplementing. He isn't 11 months yet and the pedi said I should do formula until at least 12 months. He hasn't had formula before (except for first 2 days in nicu). Would you do regular enfamil or enfagrow?

Re: Formula question

  • I did Enfagrow for supplementing at 10.5 months when I had enough of pumping. It was cheaper! At 11.5 months I switched to WCM.

  • See, I wanted to go straight to wcm, but the nurse I talked to said formula before 1. I feel like she was just sort of saying what she's "supposed" to say, though. LO is really big and healthy, should I just do wcm despite the nurse's rec?

    Pretty much what CL8 said.

FTR we use Enfagrow and Lilly seems to like it just fine.  If you decide to introduce formula, you can continue to use Enfagrow even after they are older to suplement for some of the vitamins not found in milk.
Yep this! I give J mostly cows milk but ive also given him enfagrow for the nutrients and iron that are added to it. They have some that come in single boxes with straws that he loves. He thinks its a special drink and sucks it down! I use those on days where i feel like he didnt drink enough milk.
This sounds perfect! Thanks you ladies!!!

  • I had to start supplementing at 10.5 months and the lactation consultant recommended Enfamil.
