DS is really bow-legged. I brought this up to our pediatrician at his 18 mo appt and the pedi watched him walk and felt his legs and said hes not the least bit concerned and he will grow out of it. My husband isn't concerned either, he said he was bow-legged too and obviously hes not now but my mother and grandmother keep telling me me to take him to an orthopedic just to get looked at and now I am thinking that I should. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Anyone else have a bow-legged toddler?
toddlers are generally bow-legged until 2 1/2 or 3 years old. my DS is 21 months and is still bow-legged. if your pedi is not concerned, i would not worry.
Rickets (bow legged when older) is caused by a lack of vitamin D. So make sure they're getting their vitamin D.
Our pedi has our son on an extra vitamin D supplement for his development. I don't know if that's the norm or not for this is my first child. It may be something for you to consider if your DS is not already on a supplement.
(Ours is a liquid vitamin. We just add one drop to his milk once a day).
Fast forward 3 months to her 18 month appointment with a different pedi in the practice and now we need an extra appointment at 21 months to see if the bow leggedness has gone away at all.
So I'm not sure what to think. One dr says it's nothing to worry about and rhe other wants to check her out again in 3 months because of it
