I have anumber of childeren at home, my 10 mnth old and 2 yr old and 2 step kids 10 and 12. Now that school is out I was wondering if I could possibky make lunch for the whole week so I wouldnt be spending all day in the kitccchen cuz it feels li, e I already do! I need some suggestions on what to make cuz im not sure how the food would hold up?
Re: what to make for lunch for kids all ages?
Another idea is to cook a lot of something like rice or quinoa, veggies, and chicken breasts and then have that with different sauces or other variations for lunch.
Or Costco or other stores have pre-made things like chicken salad, other salads, pimento cheese, sandwich trays, cooked shrimp, etc.
We do the same as PPs. Lunch includes a bunch of fresh veggies and fruit. It's easy to prep and refreshing on hot days. We also use leftovers to make wraps. Chicken in the crock pot can be shredded for bbq, taco and salad wraps. Cold pasta salads are easy to make ahead of time.
DItto @KlondikeBar. My almost 7 year old thinks hes a chef and has started making the boys lunches for school. It's awesome.
Make a big batch of PBJ and put them in the freezer - think uncrustables. We like to do things like Make Your Own Lunchable day....saltine crackers, ham and cheese pieces. That's super fast to make, or you could put it out on a plate and let them put their own together.
Sometimes we also do ham and cheese or grilled cheese or even
eggs.
