STMs- is there always bloody show?

I feel silly posting this because this is my 4th baby, but I have always been induced so have never gone into labor naturally! I have been having stong contractions today, but no blood or change in discharge. From your experience, is there always a change in discharge or bloody show when you go into labor? Just curious. Thanks!

Not with my first, yes with Charlie. Also, you can have bloody show and not go into labor. Its one of those fun end of pregnancy symptoms that mean almost nothing.

No - I never had any with my first two.  Never noticed losing my mucous plug either.

With my older 3 I never lost the mucus plug, never had spotting, my water never broke on its own, and only had minor contractions.

I've never had bloody show either. At least not until I was like 7cm and already in the hospital.

I had bloody show with my first in the am and went into labor by 8pm.  With my second, I had an appt in the am and had my membranes swept so I had bloody show but I thought it was just because of the exam.... but some of my friends didn't have it until they were checked into the hospital in active labor.

With my first I lost my mucus plug the day before labor and it was the typical plug I had heard about. Now yesterday I lost a huge glob of mucus stuff that was normal looking but was gross to me even being a nurse.

I only had bloody show when I was in labour in the hospital.

Nothing with DD my water also didnt break until she was crowning.

I had nothing with DD1. My mucus plug came out on Saturday, though it wasn't bloody. I know I was dilated to 3 as of last Wednesday. Some contractions throughout the day, but nothing regular.

With my first, I did not notice losing the mucous plug and did not have bloody show prior to going into labor or at the hospital when I was still able to get up to go to the restroom (I had an epidural around 5-6 centimeters, so it's entirely possible/probable that I did after that and didn't realize it).

Nothing for me with DS or DD. 

This time around, I lost my mucus plug at 38 weeks + 3 days and there was a blood spot in it, but no bloody show.

Just to piggy back on this question, have any of you lost your mucus plug but only noticed it as heavy discharge for a few days?  All of a sudden I have a huge amount of clear discharge, but not sure if it is just gel from my appointment yesterday of a cervical check just coming out...
