Florida Resorts help, please.

This is a post and run but I appreciate any help. Dh and I want to go somewhere in Sept. from a Friday-Sunday night. I really want to stay at a resort/spa but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Everything I find, rooms are at least a $1,000 a night. I want the feel of a luxury vacation but not go broke. It doesn't have to be Florida but it's my first choice. Btw, it'll be just me and him. No kids.

Have you tried trip advisor? You can check out different areas of Florida that might not be so crowded and touristy, and therefore would be cheaper. They have tons of reviews about the different towns, and of course the resorts in them. What about renting a condo? I'm sure you could get a decent rate that way. Check out Perdido Key, FL. My ILs have a condo there and there's a lot of fun things to close by.

What part of Florida are you looking at? Jacksonville beach has a resort called One Ocean. I haven't been there in a while but it wasn't outrageous when we stayed there. What kind of thigs are you looking to do on your trip?

Sanibel and Captiva Islands are really nice...we did a spur of the moment trip there when we lived in FL and stayed at an inexpensive hotel that was really decent, but I know there were much more luxurious places to stay. Those beaches are known for having some of the best seashells if you like walking on the beach looking for shells....also there are some really good restaurants. We always wanted to go back and just never seemed to find the time....

amelia island has amazing beaches.  that's all i know.

Thanks guys, I'll check those out. I'm just looking for something on the beach, with pools and spas. The islandy feel but not super expensive. Of course decent restaurants.

That time a year you might be able to get key west cheap. We stayed at the Pier House before. It was only about 250 a night. September is right before their busy season.

Amelia Island, Ponte Vedra Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach all have varieties of things to do. Beach, spa, bars, shopping in Jacksonville, wineries in St Augustine (also the nations oldest city) as well as boating and fishing, and a great outlet mall.

I would suggest Atlantic Beach or Amelia Island You might find more options searching Jacksonville Beach but they're all close by.

I've heard if it but never been there. They do a lot of giveaways on the news and radio. It looks really nice though, from what I've seen on tv
